Wooden Thomas & Friends: Battery Powered Percy

The idea of a battery powered train is lovely but the reality of it with two boys who don't yet grasp the concept of turning things off is somewhat different. With new batteries percy is capable of pulling quite a few trucks, that is until he is used on carpet rather than the track. However, batteries don't last long and he spends more time waiting for new batteries than being played with. I would only recommend this train and in fact any battery powered train for older children.

This toy worked for only one hour. We returned it and and had a replacement sent immediately. The second one lasted for two hours before breaking. Amazon promptly gave us a refund.

Wooden Thomas & Friends: Battery Powered Lady

This is a great toy, i was very impressed with it's power, yes it is a 4x4 with great climing ability, probably in excess of 50 degress and pulling power of 9 or so engines, watch out as sometimes the engine would not move when powered by the easy on switch found on top, i found a little tap on the floor would free the locked up 4x4 mechanics.

My girl is 3yrs old and got her Brio train set for Christmas together with Thomas and Molly. The highlight however is this tunnel! All the other kids that visit (as well as my girl) just love it. Can't see the educational value really - just great fun!
