GTA is not just a video game, it is a phenomenon. No other game as had so much unniversal praise, media attention and just simple become so massive. But upon playing the game you can see why. The first of the new generation GTA games in 3D on the PS2, the first thing that strikes you is just how big the game is. The world is massive, and filled with all kinds of madness.
Steal a car, drive around, speed crash, kill people for money, get into fights with gangs - all these are staples of GTA 3. Ignore whatever anyone tells you about the game setting a bad example for kids, what a load of rubbish! This is a game, pure and simple, it the amount of innocent fun you can have on here is nothing to do with ... Read More:

Believe it or not, there was a time when full free-to-roam 3D worlds were just a gamer's pipedream. Oh sure, we'd had some pretty impressive action adventures in three dimensions - Metal Gear Solid and Soul Reaver come to mind - and even some truly memorable settings, from Hyrule in Nintendo's magnum opus Ocarina of Time to the then standard-setting streets of Sega's Shenmue... but these were all fantastical, story driven fictions, not the go-anywhere, do-anything sandbox offering many had craved.
And then it happened: GTA III. And since then gaming's never been the same; we've had a host of imitators, from your True Crimes to movie licenses like the Godfather and Scarface, and even the barmy-as-a-bright-blue-banana Just Cause, but GTA, in all ... Read More:

This is as good as all the other Grand Theft Auto games - great graphics, great vehicle handling etc. Always takes me ages to complete - giving you a real challenge that is difficult to get bored of. But it is a little gloomy and some of the script is a bit naff!
This game is utterly mental. Loads of missions, bars and nightclubs, and mod shops and property's to rob and buy. The game is frankly huge: never mind one city: more like three. I bought this after i purchased vice city and loved it! The best thing is to fight for your territory! If you like GTA games, buy this! Go Rockstar!

Well, this is a great game, the only reason i made an account on amazon, was so i could buy it again. i would have gone for GT4, but i already have the save files of GT3 on my ps2, i dont want to do them again, i purely want the game for driving the streets of seattle in the GT40 and trying the dodge on laguna seca, absolutely brilliant. i also follow the grand prix and where i cant handle the F1 Games, i can handle long endurance races on GT3 :D

This is absolutly unbelievable good value for money. You get 2 of the greatest games ever for the price of 1. In GTA3, the you have 2 fight off the triads and the columbians. And in Vice City you fight the Cubans and the Haitians. The point of both games is to take over the cities, easier said than done. You start by driving your bosses girlfriends and end by taking out the heads of the mafia. Gameplay 9/10 Value for money 10/10

The main selling point of The Getaway series - the photo realistic representation of London - is also it's main weakness. You see, the developers; Team Soho have invested thousands of man hours and huge amounts of Sony's money in creating this digital London, all with the correct shop signs etc etc, and so they are going to try and milk their little cash cow for as long as possible.
You would assume this would not be a problem for us consumers, HOWEVER, Team Soho's beautiful looking and seemingly ingenious cash cow is seriously flawed in that it is based upon a concept that was fresh in 1997 - with the the "Driver" series of games. Things have moved on greatly since then in terms of interactivity in digital metropolises - think GTA San Andreas. It's not now enough to ... Read More:

It is beyond me how this game doesnt sit in the hall of fame.
.Brilliant graphics
.Smooth game play
.Huge dark metropolis ( an exact recreation of New York city )
.Incredibley interactive world ( almost every building can be entered )
.A GTA wannabee grown up
Please buy and experience this for yourself (warning this game game is freakishley dark, none of that true crime; streets of LA good or evil rubbish, includes drug, sex etc refrences) - luckily amazon doesnt recognuise pegi age ratings so available to all ages ( Although its darker corners are to much for anyome under 14 ) Happy Gaming!
