For the price, this is brilliant set of scales. As one of the other reviews said, no longer do you have to bend down to look at eye level - its all there in front of you.

I particularly love the setting to zero when u have a bowl on the scales - great. I would recommend these to anyone yay

This product was unable to fully cook the ingredients of a meal, even after many hours on the high setting. Perhaps it was just this particular unit that was defective, but I will search around for a different model. The Amazon.com returns policy, however, is user friendly and they have provided a full refund.

After reading the very mixed reviews on this page I was eager to see what all the fuss was about with this book. I am not overly concerned about the whole argument on whether or not it is right or wrong to cheat at cooking - although I might add that I am surprised at the anger from those who sit firmly in the latter camp (if you feel so strongly about it, why on earth would you buy a book entitled 'how to cheat at cooking' in the first place?) Personally, I bought the book on the basis that it might provide me with some after-work ideas for a quick meal. Flicking through the book, I have only really come across a couple of recipes that appealed to me and most of them contained so many specific ingredients that I felt it was not worth the bother. I've never been one for cooking, and I was never taught how to cook either.
This book has been great for learning how to enjoy cooking, and both my son and I have really benefited from it.
The recipes are simple, and I still dip into the book now, even though my son's older, for inspiration. The pages are covered in food splashes and half of them are repaired with sellotape, a sign of a well used, well loved receipe book :o)

great recipes (shame no pics tho - i do like a recipe book to have pics) which we are still using in our house (not just the toddler recipes) cos they're healthy, low on salt, sugar ecetera and as littlun has got older we've just stopped pureeing them.

good buy and plenty of scope for improvisation if you don't have the exact ingredients

Nice looking kettle with a good lid. It does take a while to switch off when boiling so don't position it under a unit as the steam will cause damage. I find it heavy when it's filled to MAX. but I'm only 5'1".
