Archos 404 - 30GB Slim Portable Multimedia Player

I bought this just as another MP3 player with a huge size and lo what i found was - its marvelous

You can store most of your documents and pictures as well as your entire favourite music gallery and yet - there is always space in it...

It has never disappointed with its battery life so far - and is a wonderful and strong player compared to others....

However, people may find it difficult to carry - due to its bulk - for me this has never been a problem. I have a small wallet - large enough to zip my beloved archos in it and carry with me when i am jogging or on the move...

Its a wonderful library of movies, songs and ebooks for me - though i have never used it to read any of the ebooks!

Having read the above reviews from the DVR I do wonder if perhaps I have a faulty unit. The unit acts as a 'pass-through' when my Archos 704 wifi isn't docked, i.e. phono connection from recording source (there is a supplied Scart adaptor to convert from phono) and phono to Scart out (I can't understand why the phono connectors are all gold plated, but the scart connectors are not). Sat next to my Panasonic 32" LCD the picture quality is notably degraded on the TV, partuculary when seeing any text on the screen). Play back of recorded stuff on the Archos is reasonable enough, but I can't put up with the degraded picture quality on my TV for the bulk of the time when my Archos is not in use (The docking station does have S-video in/out which I have not ... Archos DVR Travel Adapter - Record video on to Archos on the move For 404/504/604

This little adaptor which is basically what this item comes down to will easily connect to your TV/DVD/Sky via the component cable leads/Scart adaptor to allow for recording/playback.
It is basically a moulded plug that will connect to the underside of your Archos 4 gen. I have a 404 camcorder and it allows me to playback home movies/record last nights sky. It has the input for a charger power supply so that your archos doesn't run out (but not the transformer). I bought the cheap PC adaptor ( called the docking adaptor) as well as this not only gives easy PC interface but also a power supply that you can use on this device (as the USB on the PC will charge you archos when connected to the PC). Archos Docking Adapter - For 404/504/604

I recently bought a 405 30gb + Gen5 Video dock and was looking for a convenient charging device as I am shortly off to Greece for my hols. I didn't want to take the Video dock as it is, although light in weight, quite large!
This item does what I want it to do and more. I have transfered pictures from a Nikon using the cameras own USB lead. Also photos from a Canon camera using the docks lead with the smaller usb connector attached to the camera. Saves travelling with different leads doing the same job. I also found that the videos taken with the Canon (very good quality btw) also transferred perfectly. Indeed using the camera as a card reader any files can be downloaded to the unit. Archos 104 - 4GB MP3 player -Black

This is my 1st MP3 player and it is easy to use, small and stylish without feeling too delicate. Sound quality is very good, headphones are fine. Matt black casing can mark easily, but not a big problem. Very happy with is so far.

i have owned a gmni xs200 for a couple of years and have not regretted buying it once. my nine yr old wanted an mp3 player and so naturally i went for a similar thing. the xs100 operates in exactly the same way as the xs 200, with no additional software needed, just drag and drop the files required.She was made up i could get it in pink, and in my opinion it is much better than a similar ipod i bought for my older daughter which she has had endless trouble with.The only reason i haven't given it 5 stars is it seems it can only be charged via the usb port, but other than that its the business.

Helmet Camcorder for Archos 404, 504 and 604 Series

I also took this camera skiing, and again it stopped working after a few days. It had worked on a previous trip but i guess that -15C was a little too extreme for it. Once again, great camera, i will be getting another but be careful when using it in the cold.
