WoW is undoubtably the greatest game created so far. I have to agree with those who warn of possible addiction. It will take months to get to level 70 (soon to be level 80) and that is where the game really begins. You will then meet people who will really show you what a noob (novice) you are and this is after several months of playing! The game is so time consuming that at the top level you haven't got time to do both PvE (player v the environment) and PvP (player v player) so you have to specialise to become really good in one or the other.

The game reigns supreme but it does have its competitors. Warhammer Online has just been realised and may prove to be as good (doubtful as I find the combat ponderous). The next expansion ... Read More:

This product is brilliant. It allows you to play wow without the need for credit cards or debit cards. (which is a good thing as my card does not allow monthly direct debits). But even if you can use your credit/debit card, this is still a more secure and more efficient way of paying your wow fees. And also you know you can trust amazon to provide you with a 1st class service every-time.

Having played the beta from it's opening in July, I have had an oppertunity to see what the developers have been hard at work doing since Blizzcon last year. To my surprise, the results are extroindary. As they have stated on many an occasion, they have taken the good from Burning Crusade and ran with it. The quests and storyline are fresh and rarely feel tedious, the environments are stunning and the music really helps you feel immersed in the experience.

Alot of people were dissapointed with Burning Crusade and I can happily say that Wrath of the Lich King has looked back, seen the issues that the previous expansion had and moved in the opposite direction. World of Warcraft Master Guide (World of Warcraft)

At the time i got this book (before the expansion) i did indeed find it very useful. I already had a grasp of the game basics so used to book to fill in the gaps really.

I personally think it is good just for the maps of every region and a full list of every spell/ability for each class and what level you get then - and followed by a brief description and even sometimes what they are really good for. The maps are good too, so you know where places are without having to first uncover them by physically going there in game.

I must note that since the expansion this book is in need of a upgrade, the PvP has changed from what the book says, new races, new professions, all missing. If they bring out a third addition of this book i will definiately ... Read More:

World of Warcraft Dungeon Companion

I can see the point of single player strategy guides, but buying a mmorpg guide seems incredibly pointless, and a dungeon guide even more so.

If you are a raid leader in a group that has not seen these places before it could be helpful. Otherwise you will be told by the raid leader how an encounter is going to be done. I have personally seen some of these instances with three different guilds and none of them did it the same way.

Save your money and read the strategy guides on wowwiki or a similar website site.

LOTR Online is the first MMORG that hasn't constantly reminded me of the fact that I'm playing an MMORG: neither the monotonous gameplay or sub-par grahics found in other games of this genre are present here, mainly owing to the fact that Turbine have taken great pains to ensure that all the side quests provide an interesting and often involving sidestory to the main one. At times I've even forgetten I'm playing on-line at all, a sure sign in my eyes that this is a great game in its own right; not just because it's massively multiplayer. As you level you are also constantly aquiring new traits and titles, either gained from exploring certain areas of the map or killing a cetain number of mobs etc, all of which relieve the grind.

World Of Warcraft Burning Crusade: Limited Edition Keyset for Zboard(PC)

The dreaded Zboard... I got mine tried it and ended up sticking it in the bin. Not well supported over here, not compared to North America. The drivers wouldn't work correctly I ended up denting my coffee table with it and I then spent half an hour picking up all the parts from around the floor. Got myself a Logitec G15 and haven't looked back.

Nice idea shame about finished product, and poor techincal support.
