Tacima CS929 6 Way Mains Conditioner and Radio Frequency Interference Filter

I bought the filter to try to eliminate occasional popping sounds and picture interference on my old Freeview box. To be fair I also fitted a graphite core to the mains lead (so part of the improvement could be due to that) but the combination of the two actions has brought about a 99% improvement. Just very occasional interference now and when the sound is affected it is not at loud volumes. I've also the added peace of mind of surge protection. I can't confirm that the picture or sound are otherwise improved - both are normally very good - they may be, but it is tricky to do a before and after. Certainly not worse anyway!

I bought this early as I am working overseas and wanted to avoid any mailing problems as this is my Xmas treat. My only slight disappointment is it has fallen by another £10 from the £175 the wife kindly paid.

I also ordered a 1gb sony memeory stick to enable the BD Live facility.

Anyway it arrived and connected to my 40" Sony Bravia and DSL LAN, and after a few easy steps it was updated to profile 2 and I had a quick peek at the BD live bit on the Iron Man BD disc. As for picture quality it was superb (pores on faces individual hairs showing, hugely greater clarity etc) and the sound through my lower end Pioneer dvd/amp was excellent, although could only hook up by stereo analogue so no surround sound. Got this great player last week, I was using PS3 before for Blu Ray only and I was not happy with sound quality... So I bought this player and found huge difference!

In PS3, it was restricted in Picture and Sound settings, you can now play around as you can in dedicate player. Now I can set them as I want and pass... sound in Bitstream to my amplifier to get maximum output.

About this player, it's easy to setup, crisp picture, better colours and excellent sound output.

I already mentioned about sound. Huge difference (if you have surround system). Also you can use onboard processor to HD Audio Decoding if your amplifier doesn't support them. Works flawlessly!

As a fan of superhero movies, I have been a happy man recently. The quality of these movies has increased massively over the past few years. The Dark Knight, Spiderman and Hulk movies are great improvements on previous efforts.... can Iron Man keep up... OH YES! Watched this last night on my brand new 1080p TV and was blown away with the picture quality... amazing. Then you have the film itself. Sets up the character brilliantly, I really like Stark the playboy, and you are really convinced with his epiphany. With good performances from all the actors, great special effects and CGI that is not obvious, this made for a very entertaining 2 hours. Even sets you up for an exciting sequel..... a must buy for super hero movie fans, especially on Blu Ray

Sony Blu-Ray Disc Remote Control (PS3)

The remote works just as the other reviews describe very well, the thing is i live in a chaotic mess and if you press any button and i mean any button, it turns the ps3 on, regardless of where it is in the room, as its blue tooth. The amount of times ive returned from work to find the ps3 on is amazing, some times i turn it off more than once a day in fact i hardly ever use it and its run out of battery's the amount of times its turned the thing on. The battery's are going to stay uncharged. Its so ridicules that they give you a special remote control cover with the play tv to stop it happening. if you have the cover or some special wall mounted holder fine but if you have a young family and dont, be warned. only an fool would buy a blue tooth remote ... As other reviewers have noted, there was a general feeling of unease when a small, relatively unknown actor was slated to be the next James Bond. We needn't have worried, however, since all such concerns are dissipated in the first few moments of this latest addition to the Bond stable.

The opening sequence in grainy black-and-white is completely unexpected, beautifully handled and surprisingly gritty, setting the tone for the rest of the film. Within the first quarter of an hour or so we have had one of the most imaginative openings to a Bond, followed by one of the finer title sequences, topped off by a vertiginous (especially in Blu Ray!) chase sequence which may have you gasping.

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said but... this series shows some of the most eye-popping, jaw-dropping, mind-boggling images you're ever likely to see.

If you like nature programmes (in fact, even if you don't) it's impossible to imagine you won't be blown away by this documentary series...

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull [Blu-ray] [2008]

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is another classic Indy adventure which stands up extremely well to the first three movies in the series. Those who were upset by what they saw as an 'unrealistic ending' obviously have never seen the ending to an Indiana Jones film! Put simply, this is classic Indiana Jones.
Now onto the Blu ray disc itself - the image is crystal clear and the sound is superb. There are also numerous making-ofs and trailers. The only thing that would have made this release even better would have been a commentary track by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
All in all, this is a great movie and if you are a true Indiana Jones fan, you won't be disappointed by this.

Panasonic DMP-BD30 - Blu Ray Disc Player - Black

For this price it is great.

DVD Upscaling is good.
1080P is truly fantastic. however my lcd tv struggles with the 24fps function which I turn off.

Why would anyone buy anything other than panasonic, they are so far ahead of their rivals.
