Incy Wincy Spider Finger Puppet

As someone who is freaked out by spiders I can honestly say this is a really cute little puppet. The children seem to agree and want to hold him at story time, count his legs at maths time, sing his favourite song at music time. Can be incorporated into many areas of the nursery/classroom.

This is a little gem of a book; I bought it thinking it would give me helpful ways of knowing and remembering more about grammar - but it's so much more than this.

The whole book is about mnemonics and rhymes as memory aids, grouped into 17 themed categories as listed in the contents page, which is viewable on the 'Search Inside' feature.

This book is ideal for flicking open and dipping into whatever page it lands on as it not only cites fascinating facts/trivia it also provides the means for remembering them!

To give a flavour of the diversity of information in this book, here's a rhyme which caught my attention (I hope the information's accurate!) on what's good to choose for firewood:

Don't Put Your Finger in the Jelly Nelly

Unlike many interactive style books for small children this does not make noises, nor does it require you to lift the flaps. As a parent I think this is brilliant, as there is nothing to drive you mad, and nothing for the child to rip. It does require the child to poke their finger through a hole in the page though, which given that poking their fingers into unlikely places is what small children do naturally, works a treat.
The fantastic illustrations, great imagination and simple repetitive rhyming of the book all make it a clear favourite with kids and something silly and fun that they can learn easily and repeat with great gusto. A wonderful book.

This is a wonderful little book that provides the reader with excellent ideas that could be used with young children. The book would be very useful for early years teachers, students, support staff and parents. It gives you clear links to the steeping stones & early learning goals which makes it very easy plan activities in an educational environment. The book also explains what resources/equipment you will need, key vocabulary, other ideas/activities and links to stories and songs. I think this is brilliant book which has given me a lot of easy, fun creative ideas that I have used in my classroom.

This is a fantastic childrens book. It would make a really good gift. The way the pictures move would make it really interesting for most children and it is quite unusual, also the quality of the book is very nice. Quite unique!

I'm a big fan of Sally Featherstone and this is one of the best in the series. Very clear, precise, easy to read and not at all patronising. I like this a lot.
