River Crossing - The Perilous Plank Puzzle

This game filled quite a few hours over Christmas for our whole family from our 6yr old daughter to Nanny & Grandad. We enjoyed seeing who could get to the highest level, and then timing who was the fastest...great fun, and its unusual to have something simple that all generations really enjoy, and can play at different levels.

Shocking - Shock Ball

This ball is so much fun. The shock you get depends on where it touches you. It's very durable, i've dropped it lots and it's still working. You can play so many games with it like, hot potato and you can put the ball on different parts of your body. It's well worth £15, it makes you laugh. I expected it to be bigger but when you play with it you can see why they have made it smaller.

Girl Tech Password Puppies

My daughter (8) got password puppies for christmas.
We have at times struggled with the voice recognition, but you get more used to it over time. She wanted to call her puppy Millie, to register a name you have to say its name exactly the same twice and then again every time you turn it on. (a little frustrating, I didn't realise there were so many ways to say Millie) However the rest of the voice recognition is good and trying other names might be easier.

To make your puppy grow, you have to feed it 3 times, walk it twice and praise it 3 times in a day. Once you reach full grown there are no more limits to how often you can feed and walk your puppy which is much better for children. There are also games for your puppy, tricks ... Read More:

Brain Game

I bought this game for myself for Christmas as I really enjoy making my brain work a bit with maths, words and puzzles etc. but was rather hesitant to spend over £100 on a Nintendo platform and individual game. That is probably where the comparison ends as I have only seen the Nintendo version once before.

This is a nice sized hand-held electronic set of 5 different games or tests for your brain to work on. The unit itself feels nice and solid and is very ergonomic - comfortable in the hand with the buttons in the right places although the keypad buttons could be a little small for some fingers.

Bop It Extreme 2 Adult Light

Good toy but design fault because the handles are very badly marked within 3 days of use. Marks won't come off and my daughter is very disappointed as she likes her toys to look 'clean' and this one looks grubby already. She is a teenager and is careful with her things and doesn't have grubby or sticky hands, so the handles are made of a very porous material. I would advise getting the black.

Hoppers

This is a brilliant, challenging game for children over the age of 6. The cards are well thought out, increasing in difficulty gradually, so children's understanding of the game is developed before they tackle the more challenging cards. My children of 7 and 9 (boy and girl) both love it (as do both parents) and it's a great compact toy to take out to amuse them whilst waiting in a restaurant. Highly recommended.

Challenge 20Q (Tabletop Game)

I bought this as a present under the influence of previous reviews, and I have to admit I was disappointed. It often gets close to the answer whilst guessing correctly only about fifty percent of the time; for example: police car rather than ambulance, seed instead of nut, vodka rather than wine. Still pretty impressive, but if we went head to head, I'd favour myself over Mr 20Q.

This is a great Game of memory and good listening ability.

Simple phrases and sayings that one would think easy to recall, but what leads to the confusion, is remembering where you heard which word and under which light of that particular phrase!

As always, this is another great quality Game from Radica:
