Xbox Official Controller S

The Xbox controller this size is very good size. Its comfortable, its got a good rumble pack and its the best Controller for Xbox except perhaps the Wireless version. The colours and design on this COntroller is also very nice, but the Controller breaks easily. I have 4 Xbox controllers. 1 came with my Xbox and it now has the problem that the Controller things that im pressing the Right Trigger all the time. An annoying problem for games like Halo, Shooting everything accidentely. The other controller thinks im moving the right Joystick thing to the right slightly all the time (not too bad) the other one is fine actually and the last one doesnt work at all really. It keeps on saying (Please Re-Insert Controller and Press Start) ALL THE TIME. ... Read More:

Official DVD Movie Playback Controller (Xbox)

I think the reason this item has a poor rating compared to other peripherals is that people are buying it to use with an unmodified XBOX which has a DVD lockout as standard. Even when buying this kit, your XBOX is locked to the region it was made for and this is completely unsatisfactory. I haven't even bothered to use the stock software that plugging in the infrared device to port 4 unlocks.

I bought the remote and wireless adaptor because I use XBMC and it has region-free DVD support, plus my XBOX has a large harddrive filled with good-quality copies of the movies and shows I have bought in the past. Contrary to the Amazon assessment the remote actually has a decent reception range and angle, only failing to work if many objects ... Read More:

Bought 2 for the kids. Wireless they ought to have been, but not that they communicate reliably with the Xbox.
The paddle sticks in the one + the other struggles even to 'talk' to the Xbox.
The laughs on me -> Don't let it be on you too.
Be kind to your kids. Buy them something that works.

Driver: Parallel Lines (Xbox)

When i read the review I had a vision of a game that was infinitely better and improved over its predocesser...

The truth is it is not.
Although it improves in some areas, such as the heat only being given to your car and Driver going back to its routes it still suffers some very simple problems.

AI and the police have been improved to be able to follow better through traffic, however they will get you for the simplest things! sometime, you stop at an intersection (to avoid being chased) and a police car hits you from behind chasing someone else and then promtply chases you because you went through a red light?

They will also get you for pulling a gun out whilst driving which is easily done when pulling a hand brake ... Read More:

First time I played this game, it brought back memories of Driver, although this game is a lot more about the racing than it is about chases.

You can either play a career game where you get to fight your way up to the top challenging 15 rivals, there's a challenge mode where you have to complete challenges (60 of them or so) I didn't play many of these as I had done similar things in the career mode anyway, and then there's multiplayer, which I haven't player either on or off-line so I don't know what this mode is like. In career mode there is a list of requirements that you need to complete before you can challenge the next rival.

The graphics look pretty good, the music is suitable, plays well too, the cars available feel different when ... Read More:

Halo

This is one of the best FPS games ever. Developers BUNGIE got it spot on with this first game in the trilogy.

You take on the role of John Spartan (Sierra 117) and your mission; Save the Galaxy from distruction! After landing on a strange ring world known as Halo you encounter fierce resistance from an advanced alien civilisation known as the Covenant. You must battle your way through all types of scenarios to stop the Covenant from acheiving their goal of galatic salvation.

The game brings action packed battle sequences, tough difficulty levels, great weapons and second to none gameplay. This game defined the Xbox and will get you hooked like never before. Prepare for battle and don't look back!!

Oh and watch out for the FLOOD. ... Read More:

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Xbox)

After playing many FPS games that had a "Blow up everything in your way" gameplay it was nice to get my hands on a little more of a tactical game. Rainbow Six 3 breaks away from mindless shooting and adds alot more thought to the FPS genre.

The game puts you in control of a squad of 3 men who act as covering fire aswell as other back up and support. This adds to the games diversity and you feel a real sense of leadership as you command your troops. Also the game is alot more realistic to other FPS games, in RS3 if you take a couple bullets you die and if you happen to live you dont have any method of regaining your health as there are no health packs. This is one of the elements that makes the game so tactical, the minute you come under fire you become so cautious ... Read More:

It's the game that football fans wait all year for, and it doesn't dissapoint. It really immerses you in the game, to make you feel as if you really are out on the pitch.
Perhaps the only problem for seasoned players of fifa is that the only way to unlock the top level of difficulty is to win every game in a season of Manager Mode, which I myself sometimes just can't be bothered to do!
But you've probably got a lot more staying power than me.
All in all this is definitely a great game, beaten only in quality by fifa 08.
