Creative Zen Stone 1gb MP3 Player - Black

I bought this nearly a year ago in Oct 2007 , and have just upgraded to another zen product with more memory as i was so impressed with this product.
Am totally impressed by this little MP3 player.
ADVANTAGES:
* price - is even cheaper than when i got it, I paid 21.50 and would pay it again.
* Asthetics - pretty in pink ;), tiny, lightweight yet sturdy (i managed to put it thru the washing machine and the quality is still top class).
* Sound quality - Great.
* Usability - Straighforward. I use it in work (don't tell), i just plug it in via the usb port and transfer files from the pc to the stone, you dont even need to download the software (provided). You can split the music into various folders, however ... Read More:

Zen Stone Armband

The armband works very well for it's purpose. It sits comfortably on my arm and doesn't move about. However it could have been designed so much better. The most obvious problem is the lack of hole to see the battery indicator (though this was easily solved with a swiss army knife) the top slider is also a little tricky to use if you cut or bite your nails short. My silicone case has also started splitting along the top seam after only 3 months of moderate use each day. It is a real shame that the case is poorly designed as I can't think of any player other than the Zen Stone that I would rather use for exercise. Hopefully alternative armbands will prove to be superior.

Creative Mains Charger For Creative Zen Stone

If you're like me and only have your PC on when you want to specifically DO something on it, this charger is a great and simple alternative to charge your Zen Stone. It's also useful if you are away from home. It's sturdy enough to just stuff into your bag and pop into the mains for a quick charge- and it's not expensive at all. Definitely recommended. NB: Should note that when I bought it, it was only £5; now it's doubled in price. Still, I think it's worth having!

Creative Zen Stone 1GB - White

How easy is this player! On Christmas day I took it out of the box, plugged it into the computer (it charges itself through the USB), Windows XP recognised it, I dragged some songs onto it. Job done.
No software to download, not even a CD in the box! It also plays licence protected WMA (in other words anything downloaded legally from other than itunes). The Philips PSS I got last year for my other daughter did none of the above.
Well done Creative making such an easy device for such a good price . And it had to be white.

Creative Zen Stone Plus 2GB MP3 Player - Black

Very short battery life, even if you don't use it. So every time I feel like taking it out with me, I can't because it needs recharging on the pc which takes at least 30 minutes.
I find navigation is awkward and complicated, and apparently shortens the battery life rapidly.
Apart from that it's fine..

Zen Stone Silicon Skin 3 Pack

I bought this 3-pack of 'day-glo colour' skins for my Creative Zen Stone so that I could clip the player to my pocket-less clothes. The skins are made of thin rubber so they expand sufficiently to slip over the Stone.

Each skin has a separate long plastic clip which slots into a pocket on the back of the rubber skin. (Whoever designed it clearly didn't compare it to the iPod Shuffle's clip mounting, since this one hangs in the opposite direction from one's belt/clothes. So switching from the iPod to the Stone I found I was replaying a track when I wanted to skip forward, and lowering the volume when I wanted to increase it. A small point but irritating.)

Zen Stone Keychain

The good - it protects the Stone brilliantly and given that the Stone is so small it works perfectly as a means to carry it around on your denim's etc. The bad - well same as the rest of the reviewers. Not being able to see the power light is a real pain in the butt because you may have the Stone in pause mode or it may be hung up (happened to me once)or maybe you just want to see if the damn light is on or off. I took my keyring down to the engineroom (on a ship) and used a wad punch to make a neat little hole where the light is - feel much better now and with the mod it's worth an extra star. If you have a hole punch you may be able to do the same. Should have been thought of when designed and made though.
