 Rating:  - Great idea, terrible productBeing an amateur astronomer and now a parent, I was enticed by the idea of a cute & cuddly product that could help spark an interest and love of astronomy in my children. The idea here is sound and good. The actual product, once received, left me bitterly disappointed. Despite other reviews I've seen here on Amazon, don't expect a CD of relaxing music to come with the turtle.. and don't expect even a 45 minute timer. This has neither. There is a button to turn it on and off.. and a button for each of the three color choices (green, blue and yellow.) I wholeheartedly agree with one of the other reviewers that the yellow lighting is so dim it's hard to see the stars, even in a very dark room, compared to the other color choices. Mind you, ... The one thing that is a bit frustrating-the stars get blurry if you have it far away from the ceiling, even five feet away, which is a normal height dresser. Also, it needs to be in the center of the room, so that makes it difficult to have it up close to the ceiling. He loves turning the turtle on by himself. The blue and green star lights work great. The amber star lights are very hard to see,even when all the house lights are off. This product is well worth the money. It is great with an automatic timer of 45 mintues, the turtle will then turn itself off. This will be the only night light you will ever need to buy. Rating: - The turtle is great!The turtle has a hard shell and is very sturdy. The head and arms are very soft. The instructions were easy to read and follow. I appreciate that it came with a relaxing CD to listen to at bedtime. My son likes to be able to turn it on himself and change the color. I like that it stays on for 45min and turns itself off. |
