This is the book I drag around everywhere, you can only read a few pages at a time because you need to think while digesting. the author is very knowledgable - sometimes too knowledgable, but that's a good thing, because he has a lot to say, a different point of view, a chip on his shoulder, intelligence to burn, a worldview bought to american shores, and he is conflicted about the class system - shrugging his shoulders at the suits, but flinging out big names here and there. No matter, it is worth the price of the book, because he stimulates thought. A sure sign of a good teacher, as well as tossing out more than a few investment strategies and his well-concieved notions about our financial system.

I do not like to write a long review either...so just to say this is a fantastic book if you can digest Scott's style (maybe a good advise is to simply ignore his sense of humor).

After reading several reviews and checking the book out at a local store I purchased it on the spot. I'm also ok with Scott's humor and I think it kept the book light hearted enough. I really like the point of view and how he just explains things as if you were just chatting with him (As he meant this book to be and says so in the beginning). It's a very easy read and quick reference.

I bought this book because I considered it as a very informative and well explained book on the digital photography and I expected some explanations about the digital editing as well, but when I start reading the book, it disappointed me so much.
The book is extremely for beginners and has very short contents (without any details), the 60% of the book is filled with photos, and the content is not enough for a person who has already an average knowledge about his own point-and-shoot camera, So I don't recommend it to all of you guys who already know a little about the digital camera functions like, aperture, shutter speed, focal length and flash etc,, believe me this book is not more than just telling u press this button and release that button.. not ... This book is terrific to find out what the Mac can do, and how to do it. I've had the Mac and the book for about a month now, and it's really helped me bridge the gap from disgruntled XP owner to delighted Mac owner. It's 900 pages and it has a good index to find the answer to specific things you want to learn to do. The author really knows the Mac and writes in a tutorial fashion, making it easy for the modest to moderately competent user to understand. The book is far superior to using the Apple web site to learn to do Mac "stuff". With the book, you can mark the pages, and you don't need to be online, unlike the skimpy online tutorials.

Highly recommended, if you want to get more from your Mac, and do more.

this book is very confusing and hard to understand. It is written from a scientific point of view. I used an exam simulation program at pmsimulation.com and passed the PMP exam. This worked so much better than studying from a book.
