In addition to this terrific book, The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder.
It will tell you about a non-patriot who started a war without reason by lies and deception and then approved the illegal and immoral technique of torture.

I have been a fan of Maya Angelou since in school when we read Why the Caged Bird Sings. When I saw this book on Oprah I had to read. i was not disappointed. As usual anything Maya Angelou puts to paper is the best. What a great read. I suggest to everyone. Thank you for such a great book.

I love the show, I love the book. Like the show, it's honest and humble.
Jon and Kate are doing a great job with their children and glorifying the one they serve. I wish all the people who review this book would keep their negative comments and personal attacks to themselves. If you don't like them ...ugh.. don't watch/read about them. That simple.

This book is a delight! Marley's antics make even my dog look like an angel and made me laugh out loud as he bulldozed his way through his life and his family's houses. Having lost two dogs to old age I could sympathize with his decline as he aged and with his family as they lost him. The book was too short. I understand there is a sequel and cannot imagine how it could be any better.

This book has great insight and understanding of a person who is brain injured. If you know someone who has had a stroke and cannot communicate, this book helps you to understand what the person needs to heal. The only thing I found to be negative for me was the scientific explanations for everything that was hard to understand and not fast reading. The actual story of Jill's experience is fascinating.

Interesting, insightful and honest. Easy to read. Women are often accused of being self-absorbed when they simply are living for themselves. Who else should she live for? Self-centered is not a bad thing, if the self is striving for truth and happiness. And look what she achieved in the process: a home for her Balinese friend, a book enjoyed and loved by many (even if reviled by some), enriching experiences for herself and many of the people with whom she formed bounds on her journey. Would her time have been better spent working for a corporation, having and caring for a baby she didn't want? Being true to yourself seems a better choice.

It's hard to review this book, as pretty much everyone is reading it anyway.
The writing style is engaging, clear, and interesting. Part of this is because Mr. Alter chose to use extremely short chapters, some only four or five pages long, to make the book seem to read faster. I'm not sure he succeeds in bringing his subject to life on the page. I know more about the era and about FDR's presidency and policies after reading the book, but not so much more about the man himself. Mr. Alter persistently avers that President Roosevelt succeeded more by blind luck and instinct than by intelligence and knowledge. No one has that much luck.
The book spends precious little time on those 100 days, instead describing FDR's career prior to the presidency, ... Read More:

i remember back in 2004, at the Demorcratic National Convention, the atmosphere was moderately enthusiastic as you would see in many a policital convention. Al Gore was running for president. everyone was of course in somewhat an excited relm of exuberance. Untill, a tall, slim, statesque man of 6 ft 2 came on the scene. He was incredibly handsome, serious classy swagger and finesse. and when he spoke, he had the whole convention in the palm of his hand! the people were intranced! The questions started to buzz. "Who was that man?" "Where did he come from?" "What is his name again?" "How do you say his name?" As i watched him and listened to him, something deep down inside of me said, "Oh my God...That is our next President!" from then on, i kept up with this man, watching his ... Read More:

I wish everyone would listen to this. It talks about many differant areas that goverment interacts in our lives and the seen and unseen consequences. Dr. Paul is articulate in a way that most Conservatives are not. His insightfulness is inspiring to anyone I know that listens, because Freedom is a powerful message.
