I walked by this book numerous times at Target..and stared at it longingly..but it was $17 that I just did not have. I would pick it up and sift through the pages in despair. =) I'm being a bit silly, but anyways, the point is that I wanted this book SO BAD!! Then I heard that they were comming out with a movie so I made a deal with myself, "If you like the movie, then you can spare the money and buy all 4 of the books." Well I saw the movie on Saturday and obviously I liked it because less than a week later I am here writing a review for the first book. I am so glad I spent the money. It was priced around $7 something at Walmart so I bought it. I read the Twilight not too long ago so I decided to read on.

Here is my take on this book and the series upto this 2nd book.

Let me tell you all that this book is, indeed, for Young Adults (primarily teenage girls). I am NOT going to call it flawed but I must admit that story and characters are not to my liking. I say this because most likely that I became desensitized and cynical from having to 'live' my life through thick and thin. I just don't have the life or death passion in everything I come across as I used to when I was a teenager.

However, I don't think this book is bad for younger readers. For that matter, any book that can hold a teenager's attention ... Read More:

I could not STAND Jacob in this book. Really could not. I agree with the poster who said:

"reading 'Eclipse' (specifically towards the end) was like having a bucket of cold water thrown on me. I was just like, "HUH?!?". 'Eclipse', in my opinion, skews and betrays the true and pure love that Edward and Bella have, and the millions of fans who fell in love with those 2 wonderful, refreshing characters in 'Twilight'."

Exactly how I felt. I read this books for the unbreakable love between Bella and Edward which Stephenie Meyer clearly portrayed in Twilight. With each installment, that love seems to get muddies and trampled more and more. Toward the end, I was feeling better about it and really looked forward to the next book.

The beauty of Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse was the developing love, devotion and relationship between a vampire and a human. I loved Bella's flaws all-- of them. They made her endearing...human

I loved Edward's strength of character, maturity and his internal conflict in loving Bella. I loved his commitment to protecting her at all cost. I also loved the fact that he wanted Bella to live longer, to enjoy many human experiences that she would lose as a vampire. And I loved the sacrifices and dangers each of them face each day to love each other. It made their love and commitment special. It's what made the series so compelling.

This book was released today and my doorbell rang at 9 oclock this morning with the cutest little package that had Wizard speak on it!!! The book itself is beautiful. The craftsmanship is way beyond the price payed for it and the creative work is amazing. Not even through the Introduction and I was back with an old friend. For any harry potter fan or fan or magic in general this is a MUST BUY! Will be putting money aside to buy the $100.00 Edition asap.

This book is highly intellectual. Insights are very deep. I would just like to add a few things:

One has to view the race obsession lightly, it is not always someone's experience.
Obama is a wise man who himself has come to these conclusions - policies that are for everyone's good or are at least viewed that way will always be supported more than policies targeted at a community, as this tends to isolate or make individuals guilty.

Ease of Understanding: 8/10: The beauty of the book is how Malcolm Gladwell made the book become like a series of short stories. Every chapter is focused but you will find occasional twists throughout the book. You might not be familiar with lives of Jewish immigrants or Asian rice fields but Gladwell could elaborate them thoroughly.

Distinction: 9/10: There are books which are on many issues of this book. There are books on IQ. There are books on Bill Gates and Silicon Valley. There are books on culture, randomness, talent, honour, you name it. However, this book is on another level by the approach the author used to look at those successes.
