The best indicator of a good "teen fiction" book is an appeal to adults. I enjoyed this story and my teen years are 30 years behind me.

Others have detailed the story, so I won't elaborate, but suffice it to say that I have always enjoyed science fiction and this book did not disappoint. Suzanne Collins has created a believable future and the characters felt honest and real.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.

Beautifully written--Touching, fascinating, funny, compulsively readable--not to mention how much I learned about owls. I have returned to Amazon and bought this book for all my adult children and for several friends besides.

I've read that male writers tend to be more plot based and female writers more character based. Every time I read a book I've been noticing that this statement is true. Women writers portray more emotion in their characters and this is what makes them so interesting. Most of the Artemis Fowl books are plot based and this one is too, but there are more glimpses of internal conflict from Artemis in this book than the others. He realizes things about himself which he doesn't particularly like and this is exactly the kind of character writing I enjoy.

Pollan is an extraordinary writer: here he takes a subject that could easily be dry as dirt and turns it into a completely absorbing, thought-provoking tour de force. Though very occasionally overwritten, this book is never boring. It will teach every reader to think twice about both the source and the true cost of the food they eat. Recommended reading for absolutely everyone; even more particularly for anyone with a real interest in food or simply in developing their social conscience.

A group of ladies (all over 65) decided that even though we meet once a month, we needed at least once during the year to read and review a book. Book thief was suggested, but acknowledged that it was during a depressing time of history. I thought I would read the book and then get on to more pleasant reading. I was surprised at what an excellent book this was. I found the story, completely fascinating, and the point of view of the narrator to be excellent. I couldn't put it down. It was a depressing time in Nazi Germany, but a new look at the era. Great book
