I have QuickBooks 2009 for the Mac, and I was hoping this book would answer one question I had. Specifically, I wanted to know why the "Copy Invoice" and "Duplicate Invoice" choices in the drop-down menu are grayed out. The book did not address how to copy an invoice at all. As a matter of fact, I am not 100% sure if the book is for Windows or Mac or both; it doesn't seem to address that question either.

This is a good intro to give the basics of valuation for "old economy" businesses. It determines the valuation of companies based almost exclusively on their cash flow over the previous few years (i.e., 3, 5 and 7 year periods) to the analysis. Unfortunately it ignores (completely) too many issues that play an extremely important role in valuation. For example, the quality, background, knowledge of management, the products the company manufactures, the markets for these products, macroeconomic conditions, intellectual property, market position (i.e., oligopolistic? Howie's book is much more than a primer on Google AdWords - it's an excellent, comprehensive tutorial on how to start and run a successful Internet business.

I've been marketing online for several years and consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable about Internet marketing, and I still learned a LOT from this book.

Well worth even five times the price.

It's an OK book...I am using it for my thesis.
So far, everything in the book is based on common sense...I mean, nothing really grab my attention as a new way that can make me think "aha!"

It's a good book tough...suitable enough for my thesis:)

This is a quite useful book if you use it to expand your knowledge of Photoshop and not try to apply it to your photographic endeavors. Kelby tends to commingle his approach to photography with his knowledge of Photoshop to "fix" images which may not need to be fixed but simply discarded. But that is easy to ignore and focus on the insights Kelby provides on making positive adjustments to images, though one really needs to work in the 16-bit world to get the most benefit and avoid the distortions that result from excessive interpolation by the software when the digital gaps are too great. There just isn't enough unique content in this book for it to stand alone and be sold at the book's cover price. To be fair, there's some good content in the book (some), but just not enough to be worthwhile. This entire book could've been a series of blog entries, or perhaps a section in an updated edition of the Rhino book.

I wouldn't recommend buying this book. However, if you're intent on getting a copy, look for used copies or copies at bargain prices (less than $10).

This book goes beyond the nuts and bolts of putting together a great PowerPoint presentation. It goes deep into the psychology of human attention and our ability to comprehend new material. If you want to persuade, inform, or teach a group of folks, this book will really help.
