This book is a must read for .Net developers. I highly recommend it. I'm sure everyone will be able expand on something they didn't know with this book. I would have liked to have seen a electronic copy of the Coding Style Conventions and a summary of all the Do, Consider, Do Not for each chapter to use as a quick reference guide.

Basically, it's a review in progress. As with any "...For Dummies," product one only needs to tackle problem areas that one is unfamiliar with. In my case, it's more or less linking, and setting up a hypertext.
At the time I purchased the text, the university that I'm enrolled, has a Share Point server, called MySite. So getting a general sense of what Share Point is and how it functions, I've been pretty impressed so far. But then a very tragic thing happened last week, the Share Point server crashed, and will be down indefinitely. So right now, I'm forced to perform my Web page on Google/gmail.com. And that's a totally different animal. So, if and/or when, the server gets back up, I'll be working off Google for awhile.

My rating is based solely on the price. I would love to read this book, but the Kindle edition, the edition most likely to appeal to people interested in this topic, is much more expensive than the paperback edition!

Very good book, shows the effect of pictures taken with natural flash, and shutter speed etc... it helps a lot.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 is an excellent product. However, it contains almost no documentation and can strain the defination of "user friendly". This book is an essential training & reference guide for the product. Each chapter cover a topic. The pages are in full color, with notations of where to find the item on the screen. Since each screen is reporduced, you have almost no guess work or endless searching.
The topics are presented in a logical sequential manner that works you through the system. This book will alllow you to get the most out of the software. In addition, it allows you to stop when you have what you need for you photo editing.

Software development has grown more and more complex to the point where it approaches chaos. Most approaches to it have been aimed at controlling (read, taming) the chaos. And such approaches are doomed to failure since chaos, by definition, cannot be tame. A more realistic approach is to accept chaos and learn to harness it to give you a competitive edge. Such is the message Chet Richards' fantastic little book, Certain to Win, and such is the message of this echo of Agile development processes.

The Bradygames guide for Gears of War 2 is a hefty and handy guide that will make a great companion to a great game. It is about 300 pages, which is pretty beefy for most FPS guides. It's broken up into several sections (COG training, COG armory, Locust databank, Campaign walkthrough, Multiplayer warfare, Multiplayer map analysis, and COG intel archive). The training, armory, and databank sections are all chock full of exposition about characters, weapons, and enemies. The campaign walkthrough lists out all the major encounters you'll have with enemies (along with strategies for defeating them).
