This book is really funny, the way she tells stories is hilarious. Her other book "Are you there Vodka It's me Chelsea?" is really funny too. I wish she had more books.

This book was highly entertaining. Fictional works that are written seriously can make for some great dark comedy. Where this book drops the ball is its format, though. When buying this book, I was hoping to humorously find new ways to battle the undead if and when the time arises. But as much as I enjoyed some of the scenarios, I never felt like I recieved a concrete answer as to what would be the best options for ultimate survival.
The book often times lists the pros and cons of various types of weapons. But what is never answered is "But what's the best combination?" The book ends up being pretty pointless for survival if every page lists pros of items but then contridicts the reasons, without ever giving a solution.

This review refers to the Audiobook version of Alphabet Juice. If you have the opportunity I highly suggest giving the audio-book version a listen. I was a little dubious at first, books about language don't necessarily do very well in audio format, but I'm SO glad I gave it a try. Mr. Blount's joy and zest for language really comes alive as he reads his book. It's a sheer delight to listen to. Alphabet Juice is a superbly apt name for this book; it's not often that you find something that delights in the taste of words the way this does, the way they feel in your mouth, the way they roll off the tongue.
...Of course now I want to buy a hardcopy too, just so I can go back and find some of the really delicious turns of phrase he ... Read More:
I liked a lot of things about this book but it has created some bad feelings toward Sookie for me. Up to this point, I've mostly enjoyed her character and have loved the books. But I won't abandon the series. I'm just hoping for some character improvement for Sookie with Book 9.

I've been a fan of Robert Wagner's for long enough that I remember almost all the movies he's done, as well as every television series in which he's appeared. This book will be most appreciated by people like me, who have long memories for old (and some not so old) movies and the many older stars he discusses. [Would anyone under 40 even know who Barbara Stanwyck was?]
The most appealing aspect of the book is the casual way Wagner gives insights into Hollywood, the privileged lives of actors and the business of movie making. His tone is often ironic and wry, and he often manages to suggest much while saying little. For example, after a one-night stand with Anita Ekberg results in a ruined article of clothing, he notes that the time with her would have been ... Read More:

Tales from the Dad Side: Misadventures in Fatherhood I bought this for my Son who recently became a new Father. Thought he would enjoy reading it.

I've just gotten started reading this, on recommendation from a friend. I am 56 and grew up listening to most of the early rock albums he reviews. I skip over the classical, and there's a lot of genres covered that I don't normally listen to, but I will search out these gems and give a listen. The book is a collection of album reviews, mostly 33 rpm LPs, which is an almost extinct format that music was delivered in, when most of these recordings were made. Each album gets a half-to-full page review, and so far, I've found the reviews to be dead on with my perception of the music. I am a musician, so I am particularly critical if anything written is out of line. If you are not familiar with all major rock and pop artists and influences from the 60's onward, then it will ... This book is any LOLcats lover's favorite must-have item. I love mine! It captures the feel of the website, as well as being very handy for the inevetable power outage. It has made me laugh when I need it, and I got one to share, and spread the cheer around.

Well I first like to say I HATE zombies, just the thought of the dead coming back alive makes me quiver, so when I bought "the zombie survival guide" I just had to pick it up. I read it over and over. I loved it. So when I saw that he written another book, I had to check it out. I purchased it while I was in the desert. I was easy to read and visualize everything that had happened to all the people. I'm glad to see that the world wasn't completely destroyed and that the world had been to able to fight back the plague that seems to be destroyed in all other recreations. I loved it!
