Only a libertarian, or the authors' mothers, will truly agree with all 12 of the Supreme court cases featured in "Dirty Dozen." So what. It is thoroughly fun to read. As stated early on in the book, the authors picked the 12 worst cases decided since the New Deal, the period they define as the modern era of eroding freedoms and of government expansions. Most cases also have a "dirty dozen honorable mention" case to hold hands with it's main "dirty" case. They explain how the cases were selected, and the substantial legal assists they asked for and received in making the selections. Commendably, the authors prefaced their book with a legal expert who did not fully agree with their picks - how often does that happen!

This was well done. Referred to it often and helped guide me through this process on many larger issues as well as what may seem to be minor issues.
I credit this book with my acceptance and making Law Review in my first year. Thank you.

If you have just become the executor of your loved one's estate, let me say that I am so sorry for your loss. This book helped me get from the funeral to final settlement for my father's estate. Randolph filled this book with easy to understand descriptions, sample letters and checklists to keep you on target -- what to do first, second, third and so one.
Executor' Guide is intended to be a general guide for all 50 states so it doesn't address every state's individual laws. You may still need a local attorney to advise you on specifics for your area. There is still a lot you can do on your own. This book guides you through it.

This is an excellent book for anyone in the PI industry, and also contains a great deal of useful information for anyone just curious about how the industry works. Many current references, a nice background on the industry and a thorough overview of particular niches. I am very impressed with this item!

This book was recommended to me, and i bought it and it sat on my shelf for a time. I got it down the other day and started reading and could not put it down. It was amazing.
I was brought back to so many memories of the deep south and the attitudes, (that still are now today) prevailing in that time.
I admire this man's courage so much. I despaired at the attitudes the white people had tword him. The look, the tone of voice, the lonliness.
When he looks into the mirror for the first time, he is greeted by, himself yet a stranger.
To walk in another man's shoes is indeed a gift of God, and to be able to have compassion for that experiance is great.
This will be one of my fave. books along with Watership Down and several others i have read over and ... Read More:

"How Social Production Transforms Markets and Freedom" is an apt subheading for "The Wealth of Networks" by Yochai Benkler. The book encompasses topics as broad as the name suggests.
The five-hundred page book provides a sweeping take on networks, covering nearly everything from the history of radio to the future of information law and policy. The dense Introduction may take readers several days to wade through, but offers the core messages of the book, compacted into twenty-eight pages. After breaking further into the book, the weight is lifted as the author's ideas are presented more freely, with space dedicated to supplementary explanations and examples.
The Wealth of Networks is a book worth reading and provides a respectable overview of many topics, with ... Read More:

A friend recommended this book to me a few years ago, but I only got to it recently. It really was a turning point for me in many ways.
It offers many ideas you might find in other places, but some I have not seen elsewhere. The one that really helped me is - I am sorry to say I never figured this out before reading it here - that you have to REALLY make up your mind what it is you want before you can really be sure to get it. That is not necessarily as easy as it sounds, since having too many plan B's or not having a REAL plan can swallow you up and you get nowhere.

Recently finished this book and I highly commend the author for penning the improbable: a book about law that is incredibly lucid, engaging, and even entertaining. I found myself fully absorbed every time I picked it up. The writing is excellent and the organization clear. I've come to believe over the years that very few books actually need to be written, in terms of adding value to the human race--Law 101 is certainly one of them.
