I would just like to say that this sender wasted no time and I received the book promplty within the week that i ordered it. Also, the book was just as they promised it would be. Thank you very much. I have asked and paid extra for items to be expedited before and they still took forever.
For those who are wondering if the BRS Physiology book is worth it: IT DEFINITELY IS!!! I am very happy that I purchased it and know that I will be using it for decades... yes I said decades.

It's not that doctors skip most of their classes or that they're getting a second-rate education. It's that we walk in as enigmas--we don't fit the textbook case. Just extracting this idea from "Complications" is worth your time and money. Instead of becoming frustrated and/or scared from an "I don't know" response, we can attempt to appreciate the complexity of our bodies and the influential contexts in which we live.
Gawande writes with an excellent style. There's humor, irony and mystery throughout. The topics are fascinating and the information can even prove to be useful (it hit on an area of concern of mine).
Don't come here to research any given disease. Come here to be intrigued, entertained and exposed to a ... Read More:

I have found the book, Iconoclast: A Neuroscientist Reveals How To Think Differently, a very interesting book, but not for what the title suggests. For myself, this is not a "how to" book, but more "why" they think differently. The reason I say this, is that, the description of an Iconoclst, fits myself to a "T". The author seems to think, however, that this is something to be sought after and something that therfore can be acquired. Maybe it can, though I'm not sure I'd want to acquire it if this is possible (or advisable) to do voluntarily. The life altering experiences that some of his examples have, Dale Chihuly losing an eye, come to mind. It is my experience that there is not a on and off switch to becoming an iconolclast. That it is pretty ... Read More:

This product is a favorite of both students and educators in the ADN program in which I teach. For a number of years now we have recommended it to help students prepare for their NCLEX-RN. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn HOW to answer NCLEX style questions. This is not a content mastery book but a strategies book.

Some very basic cognitive strategies. After half-way through, nothing new is really brought to the table, and so it becomes a little tired. Still, if you are looking for absolute simplicity then this book covers some simple strategies while following several patients writing there mood on personal mood diaries.

The book begins: "I want to die at a hundred years old with an American flag on my back and the star of Texas on my helmet, after screaming down an Alpine descent on a bicycle at 75 miles per hour." When I first read those words, I found the book impossible to put down.
I purchased my first copy of It's Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life right here four days after it was released in the spring of 2000, and read it immediately. I read many chapters of it to my youngest son over the following years, and we discussed its message even in his early grade school years. Lance Armstrong became a personal hero to him, as he has been to me.
Have given this book as a gift, sometimes in its paperback form and other times as a hardbound, ... Read More:

I bought this book with the hope of finding a good upto date review of medicine. it fell far short from this. The book is VERY dense with no diagrams pictures or histology. The heamatology pictures are in one corner along with other pictures of rheumatology and infectious diseases, and not with the relevant chapters. I have read the cardiology section of the book, and i just saw one paragragh on CRT, the antiarrthymic drugs are bunched up together, with no drug-drug interaction, no mention of metabolism and there are no pros and cons of using each drug in a particular situation/condition,and there is no mention of how to follow up patients with a particular condition. There is also no mention of levosimendan in heart failure, GP2b/3a etc. Let there be more flow charts and pictorial ... Read More:
