I had the good fortune to study the Enneagram, as a graduate student in psychology, with Luc Brebion, one of Claudio Naranjo's original "disciples," who brought the teaching of the Enneagram to North America. It was my understanding at the time (1980) that the teaching of it was limited to those who'd studied with Claudio, or his original students, as it was so easy to get it wrong.

I had gotten this book back in January of 2007, when my mother-in-law had colon cancer. I was the one taking care of her after her surgery and this book was very informative and very helpful. The diet that was given to my mother-in-law after surgery was terrible. Lots of canned food and hidden surgars. They wanted her to gain weight, but the way they were trying to achieve this was absolutely horrible. This book came in handy for me and I was able to change her diet completely. The only thing that she hasn't been able to give up is ice-cream, but other than that we used this book as a bible to help her get healthy.

I found Live Right For Your Type to be fascinating and I couldn't wait to get the cook book to make it easier for me to stick to the diet. These two books contradict each other left and right! One book says don't eat this, the other book says its okay to eat. The other book says this is okay to eat, and then the other book says, no! Don't eat this! WTF?? And the couple of recipes I tried were bland and boring and the sample menu is unrealistic to a full-time working person who doesn't have a lot of money. I am soooooo disappointed in this book. Did D'Adamo even author this book? I know its SAYS he did, but how could he not see all the contradictions?

I am a medical school graduate currently doing my residency at a large, prestigious hospital in Chicago,IL. I have known for a long time that western medicine does not have all the answers or even the best answers when it comes to health care. I've listened to several of Myss' recorded lectures but this is the first book of hers I have read. I was impressed by how Myss is able to combine the chakras with the Christian sacraments and teachings from the Kabbalah to come with a very workable and usable description of how our spirit interacts with us and the world and how we can use that knowledge to heal. I heard this guy on Terry Gross & Marty Moss-Coane. He was awesome. They don't make doctors like that anymore. At least I can't find them. I got a copy of the book from my husband and read it straight through. If you are interested in how technology is shaping the technical and human side of medicine, you will love this book. It's not often you run across someone who can relate Hypocrates to telemedicine.
