This is a timeless classic that every Christian and non-Christian alike can relate to, though it's a dangerous read, since it might influence the non-Christian to delve deeper. Augustine hits the nail on the head for everyone's struggles with becoming a better person and Christian when he writes, "Give me chastity and give me continence, but do not give it yet."

I confess I have not been as productive a researcher as I should have been since getting tenure. This little gem of a book is changing both my attitude and behavior toward academic writing. There are numerous articles hidden in the dozen or so new data sets I have collected over the past few years. This book has already helped me establish my writing goals and now is the time to produce. Thanks, Dr. Silvia for help and advice. By the way, as of Nov. 2008, he is at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro which is an excellent university.

The book was true to description- Never used. It still had the CDs in it. The price was excellent ($10.00 for a book that cost $100+) and delivery was fast.

An excellent companion manual to the textbook "Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder", Dr. Linehan brilliantly outlines the skills that all DBT Skills Trainers need to steer their clients towards: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance, and the concept of Radical Acceptance is worth mentioning as well. Detailed strategies for the DBT therapist or skills trainer to deal with life-threatening and therapy-interfering behaviors of the client are precious concepts for the skills trainer to have and can go a long way towards preventing therapist burnout.

The Zone is among the most logically presented diets I have encountered. This book explains the science behind the Zone in a manner that permits the layman to begin comprehending the science. While I am not equipped to speak on the validity of the science, I am qualified to speak to its reasoning and it is both sound and logical.

The Zone is not merely about losing weight, but also improving athletic performance and establishing hormonal order in one's body. While the ultimate benefits of the hormonal balances offered with this diet (and conversely the potential harm in hormonal imbalances) are open for debate, Sears positively offers a quality explanation that would rival any medical opinion on the matter.
