This charming little book is not scientific but a rumination on consciousness that touches on vibrations, frequencies and the wonders of water. The prologue introduces the reader to the crucial role of water in life and in our bodies and psyche. Physically, humans consist mostly of water, 90% at birth & 70% as adults. Dr Emoto considers water the essential life force, pointing out the various functions it performs, its unusual properties that include the copying and memorizing of information as in homeopathy. He explains the history of the project and the technique of photography employed: Freezing water & photographing the crystals that last for only 20 - 30 seconds. First he noticed the effect of music on the form of these crystals, ... Read More:

Out of all of the green books that have come across my desk--and as an editor there have been many--this one is my favorite by far. Not cutesy, trendy, or alarmist, it's well-written and practical, and the information is presented in a way that the reader can actually digest and implement.

This is a fascinating story of an amazing quest. Besides the usual climbing heroics, close calls, and tragedies, I found the personal story of Viesturs' evolution wonderful. The story is very well told and we have Roberts to thank for that.
Even if you aren't that into mountaineering, you will love this book.

While the information included here is extensive for the limited number of plants covered, it wasn't useful for me. As a relative neophyte in this area who'd like to take advantage of plants growing wild in my area, I was disappointed that I was able to recognize only a couple of those presented--plants I was already familiar with. The author is clearly very experienced, but seems to assume that the reader is somewhat experienced as well and just wants to extend his current knowledge.
The book contains many photographs, as other reviews have said, and which encouraged me to try it, but I didn't find them as useful as I'd hoped. While photographs are usually more useful than drawings to identify plants, a frequent problem in books such as these ... Read More:

It always scares me about thinking about our children's future, what will happen to them if we die, if we didn't help them to become an independent individual, what about their personal relationships, if they will be abused -both physical and emotionally when we were not with them.
This book doesn't erase our fears, this book opens our eyes to see WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO to help them, and give us hope... not just ideas but specific examples of what to do.
It was hard for me to read this also because it goes deep about autism and genetics... It is very hard to accept that my husband and I gave our wonderful child the "bad genes".
Once you get over the guilt, this book helps you to understand that along with autism, there goes a lot of "genius" genes. ... Read More:

Whether you love animals, England, or just great stories, James Herriot's memoirs of his career as a country vet will really hit the spot.
Here is a collection of experients he has had in his career of working with animals in the English countryside, full of biting humor and observation that will have you laughing hysterically as well as more than a few that will touch your heart and bring a tear to your eye.
