I was on a long flight back from California when I had the choice between watching Kung Fu Panda on a tiny television screen four feet away from me, or read the SkyMall catalog. I wisely chose to watch Kung Fu Panda.
I was curious as to how Kung Fu Panda would present itself: as a Lion King-style retelling of ancient Chinese myth, or as a love note to kung fu films from an American perspective. I'm pleased to report that it's the latter.
You know the story: Po (a restrained Jack Black) adores the Furious Five but is too fat and slow to ever hope to become one of them and then fate does precisely that. It's the heroes who have the real problem (each representing a different kung fu style and all voiced by a roster ... Read More:

"Bella" is one of those movies that make you want to believe in goodness of people and the purpose of life. It may move you to tears, or not - but what's certain is that you won't get away unaffected.
The story of a soccer star, whose career ends before it begins, and of the NY waitress, who is left to face the music alone by her boyfriend when she becomes pregnant, is captured brilliantly in this movie. The shots capture the poignance of the moment in the movie, and in fact, at times, capture the myriad colors that life has to offer us. When Jose's soccer dreams are crashed by an unexpected event, he loses all his life's passion, and ends up being a reserved-but-extremely-respected chef in his brother Manny's restaurant in NY. There, he meets Nina, ... Read More:

How do you get a 3 star review with a 5 star game? Just use a standard def picture and get a ton of artifacts when you convert from PAL to NTSC. Great game, pity about the picture.

I bought the book and the DVD. It actualy works. I am doing the drills for about a month now (4 times per week - 40 minutes each time) and I can see the difference. I'm still struggling with combining strokes and kicks and with breathing while swimming but it seems that the more I practice the better it gets.

I've had several nightmares after seeing this movie. I've always wanted to see a movie about a nightmarish creature terrorizing a city, and this movie delivered admirably. Who cares what the monster is or where it came from? Not knowing just makes it scarier.

I really enjoy these two workout videos. I was mild-moderately in shape before starting these videos and it really provided the extra boost I needed as far as toning is concerned. It works all the major muscle groups and provides a bit of cardio. What I particularly like is the fact that the exercises are very safe and with their instruction there is very little risk of injury. The first video is a bit more dated than the second but that is of little importance. I feel this is good for any level. You do not need to know a thing about ballet to figure it out (I certainly don't) and you don't have to be at a certain fitness level to reap the benefits of these exercises. The stretches are fabulous and keep the body limber.
PS: I convinced my husband to try them as well, who is a Taekwondo ... Read More:

2 Disc Set includes over 5 hrs of bonus content including weigh ins, post fight press conference video and pre-fight press conference video as well as interviews with the fighters.
This event had a little bit of everything. Actually it had a lot of everything. Knockouts, and not just TKOs but brutal knockouts that had guys on the mat for minutes. Submissions that put guys to sleep were also presented at the hands of UFC newcomers. Enough about that, you should know what to expect by now...this is the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
If you have been keeping up to date with UFC news you would know the controversy with Sean Sherk and his title being taken away from him. Testing positive for the steroid Nandralone post UFC 73 title defense against Hermes Franca, Sherk always ... Read More:

Long before "Eye vant to pump you up..." became a Hans and Franz Saturday Night Live catchphrase, before the pump was a feature of Reebok running shoes, there was Arnold Schwarzenegger's orgiastic tribute to the sensation of muscular blood-engorgement.
"Pumping Iron" is a late 1970's documentary of bodybuilding subculture and the competitive hothouse leading up to the Mr. Olympia Competition of 1975. Its macro focus is hijacked somewhat by the larger than life muscles and personality of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
At this level, all of the bodybuilders have incredible physiques and are skilled at posing. Arnold has a command of the stage, though, a charisma, a sense of ease bordering on arrogance. His incandescent personality reads the people and situations around him and ... Read More:
