I have given this inspiring DVD to friends and loved ones here at home. And for friends and loved ones away from home, what better more efficient way than with Amazon.com. Over the years I have purchased a wide range of products and have NEVER been disappointed. Many, many thanks.cmz
We rented this entire series, hoping that it would be a hit like Life of Mammals or Blue Planet. It isn't. We hoped that it would be an ecosystem or geological approach to the planet because it is, after all, called Planet Earth and the programs are called Fresh Water, Mountains, etc. It isn't. Instead, it is an eclectic collection of camerawork taken from various locations around the planet showing unusual geological formations (10%), weather occurrences (10%), and life at the extremes (10%). The rest is pure cinematography and focuses on the camera crew and how they got the shots. Needless to say, we were disappointed.

As you would expect, Martin Scorsese has made a great film of a Stones concert. The cinematography is very good, the featurettes are interesting as are the old recorded interviews (although older Stones fans, like me, will have seen them all before in decades past). However, what makes this film outstanding is the sound quality; it's so much better than in other DVDs of their concerts that I own. You can crank it up if you want to rock out but you can also pick out subtle remarks between the players, as when Keith gives Buddy Guy his guitar at the end of the show-stopping 'Champagne and Reefer'. The song selection illustrates the talents of all band members and guest artists and there should be something in here for everyone. Thoroughly recommended.

If an impoverished nation like Cuba can have free, universal health care, why can't the United States?? How many people have to die? Our average life expectancy is lower than many other countries. Does the governement just not care, or are our lawmakers too deep in the pockets of health care lobbyists? Look around you. Someone you know can't afford to get sick. It's time to do something about it, and it starts from the top up. Election 2008!

If you liked THE SECRET, you will love this movie. I think it is way better than The Secret b/c it doesn't have that materialistic undertone that some have criticized The Secret for. It's such a beautiful movie and it truly makes you feel like you can accomplish and overcome anything! Louise Hay is wonderful. It's all about lovng yourself first. Then everything else falls into place. Very professionally done. Excellent! Can't say enough about it. I want to buy one for everyone I know. I love her book by the same title too. I use Amazon quite a lot but this is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write. That says something.

In the wrong hands, Young@Heart could have been a real mawkish tearjerker. Instead, in the hands of skilled documentarian Stephen Walker and group founder and chorus leader, Bob Cilman, this film is a fabulous look at the creative process. The spine of the production is a batch of new songs Cilman brings to the group at the inception of filming, with the goal of presenting them to the public within a matter of weeks. Cilman's challenge is that for every group member like Joe - who memorizes and rips through the very complex Talking Heads piece "Life During Wartime" in a single day (wow, hats off) - there's the struggle to train members like Lenny, who - weeks in - still hasn't got down the timing nor the words to a single line of James Brown's "I Feel Good".

Although it's not 1080p but 1080i the picture quality is amazing. There are some shots that literally take your breath away. Galapagos shoreline, the colors of the rocks under the sea. I didn't watch it on DVD, only on Blu-ray so I don't know how this would be without those images.
If you own a blu-ray player and an hd tv then you must buy this disc.
