I bought this on DVD having never even heard of the series before. I was immediately impressed by the story, characters, and the action. This is definitely a must own DVD for a Sci Fi fan.

This series touches on themes that the movies did not really address. The man vs machine topic becomes more complex and even cloudy at times as we see it in many different variations and addressed more in depth. What I find most interesting are the interactions between the human characters and the terminator named Cameron sent by John to protect John. The stories are very compelling. I very much look forward to season 2.

I pre-ordered this set, & am happy to report none of the blemishes that dogged the first seeason set exists this time. although the extra features are minimal, the episodes are maximum. I've been hooked on Torchwood from it's premiere on BBC America, and am happy to recommend this set to everyone (well, maybe not the youngsters. This isn't kid stuff, you know).

WOW...just plain WOW. You get 3 of Paul Newman's greatest movies for this low low price. They are packaged in standard DVD cases just as if you were buying them separately in a store....except you are getting each for about 1/3 to 1/2 the price you would pay for them separately. Actually I think Paul Newman's performance is better in these 3 movies than in some of his pot-boilers like Cat On a Hot Tin Roof or The Long Hot Summer (where his performances seem stiff and over-acted). In the Hustler, Jackie Gleason proves he is as fine a dramatic actor as any of his time and has a true reason for his reported "swelled head". The item's content was of course, excellent. The movie did come unhinged during shipping, which caused a loose, shaking noise inside before I opened it. I had to prevent the movie from hitting the floor when I opened it. Haven't actually watched the movie to inspect visual damage....more to come.

Three stars? Three and a half stars? On one hand, it's formulaic stuff. On the other hand, it pairs up Jackie Chan and Jet Li for the first time...

I had a sinking feeling a while ago, when I saw that this movie was being promoted with the youngsters in mind. Turns out, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM is good enough that I'm glad I got the chance to see it, and to enjoy it for what it is, which is a decent but routine and defanged martial arts picture aimed at kids. But should fans of Jet Li and Jackie Chan feel cheated? Maybe. Probably.

Even though there's a technical reason (The writer's guild strike) for this season to be shortened, the character's development and the episodes felt half baked and rushed.

Lot of shortcomings and missing opportunities for "good moments" during this season which was an overall major letdown when you compare it to the masterpiece that was season 1.

I don't recommend purchasing this season, I strongly suggest to just rent it.

I was on a long flight back from California when I had the choice between watching Kung Fu Panda on a tiny television screen four feet away from me, or read the SkyMall catalog. I wisely chose to watch Kung Fu Panda.

I was curious as to how Kung Fu Panda would present itself: as a Lion King-style retelling of ancient Chinese myth, or as a love note to kung fu films from an American perspective. I'm pleased to report that it's the latter.
