I've been using a TI-83+ for about five years. They are solid calculators with an easy-to-understand programming language. They have almost every function you need and are great for just about anything you do in high school.
However, a lot of reviews are ruling out the TI-89, saying it's hard to understand or it has functions you don't need in high school. However, the TI-89 shouldn't be entirely written off for high school math because 1) it can factor for you 2) it can solve equations for you 3) it can calculate derivatives and definite integrals. It can also express things in terms of "x" which the TI-83+ cannot. It's also a lot easier to understand, but it is very different from a TI-83+, so it's mostly just unfamiliar to users ... We purchased this calculator for my son's pre-calculus class. He has used a tutoral to become familiar with the product and found it very easy to use. If I had to purchase it again, I would have gone with the silver edition to obtain more memory.
I found the best price through Amazon and delivery came before we had expected.

I have used this financial calculator for about two weeks now. Compared to the HP one that my friend has, I believe this one is definitely superior. Overall, it is easier to manipulate with this one. One big advantage the TI has over the HP is when computing combinations and permutations: for the TI the fast keys are in place, whereas with an HP you would need to run the formulas manually which is extremely time-consuming. I give this one two thumbs up for people taking the CFA exams.
However, one drawback I want to mention is the fact that sometimes the pressed buttons aren't entered; you have to plug in the numbers and symbols pretty slowly in order to be 100% sure that all of those are entered in. I would need a little more practice with ... Read More:

PROS: 1) Features are great - - - alarm, several ring tones, etc 2) Easy to use 3) Good price 4) Descent battery life 5) The intercom feature is wonderful. My son and I can talk across the house now with ease.
CONS: 1) We did not get the distance others raved about. As soon as we walked out the door, it shut off. 2) The charge light is VERY bright - too bright actually! It is nice so you can find the phone in the dark, but it was so bright it kept me up at night, so I had to stick the phone under my bed (instead of bed stand) and still a light glows from under my bed.
Overall I like the phone - much better than any we have had in the past.

Brother PT-1950 P-touch PC-Ready Labeler for Small Workgroups

This item is a winner. It was purchased based on my brother-in-law's recommendation of a smaller model. I am using it strictly for home organizing tasks and find it easy to use, fast set-up, and good labels for shelves, boxes, etc. Haven't tried the computer functions yet. But would definitely recommend this for making labels for home use. There is one proviso which I would note to the manufacturer. It is tough to figure out which of the label tapes fit each model. A better system is needed to identify them with the appropriate machine. To give an example, it would appear that all TMZ model labels would fit this one; it's not true though. Be careful about this when you purchase the labels.

Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Printer (2436B002)

I had a Canon Multipass 750 for 5 years. It worked great as a scanner, printer, copier and fax machine. However, I was having problems when I got a box of 20 pound paper. The MX850 works great even with this light weight paper. There is a place to put the paper, in a slide out tray on the bottom, that keeps it fresh and from absorbing moisture. You can easily select the back feed to use a sheet or several of good paper when you want to print a "good" copy of something. Using the cheep paper for every day printing saves money. The printing and scanning are much quieter than the 750. I highly recommend this machine.

Purchased the Canon CanoScan 8800F Color Scanner last week to convert many, many boxes of slides. All I can say is WOW. Didn't expect to be this impressed. The unit does everything the manufacturer says it will do and does it with ease. My scans look just like the original slides; nothing was lost.

this phone has a very good range in wood houses. Although it is not impresive in concrete buildings! but still better than others i tried.
