I didn't really need this. I'd just bought a Mac, which was incompatible with my Visioneer flatbed scanner, but I still had my Windows PC and Windows as an option on my Mac. But since I could get an additional rebate through my new job, I thought, why not?

I don't know how I did without it. This thing is so small, I just put it under my office sofa (it's not very tall). It's also very lightweight. I love how it's powered through my Mac's USB, so no extra power cords. And the software is easy to use and very effective.

I'm so happy I bought this. I'm finding more uses for it all the time. Flatbed scanners have come a long way!

Canon MP620 All-In-One Photo Printer (2921B002)

We bought this printer because my wife wanted a color printer and one that would work with her new Macbook. Our 5 year old B/W HP LaserJet1000 has been great, but it has refused to play nicely with the Mac.

PROS:
My first impressions are that this is a great printer for the price. The prints are sharp, it produces amazing 4x6 photos, and it is fast for an ink jet. I wasn't expecting this much for the price.

The printer is currently hooked up to my wife's Macbook using the provided USB cable; that part of set up couldn't be easier

CONS:
I have had the printer for two days now, and I have not been able to get the printer to work with my wireless network. I am willing to admit that this may ... Read More:

Canon LiDE100 Color Image Scanner (2923B002)

I bought this with the intention of scanning old photos to jpg files. It works great! The software is just ok. But the greatest feature is that you can scan four pictures at once. It makes projects like mine a breeze. I can also see myself using this for other things.
Great product at a great price!

Canon BCI-3eBK Black Ink Cartridge (4479A003)

I am not a heavy user of ink and I see no reason to take a chance with "compatible" products to save a few bucks. With Amazon Prime I get a good price on genuine Canon ink plus free shipping and 2 day delivery. With gas over $4 it's hard to justify a trip to Staples just to buy a $10 ink cartridge.

Canon LiDE200 Color Image Scanner (2924B002)

My Epson Perfection 4490 was the best scanner I ever owned--for the first year. At two years it has become dysfunctional. Back when it worked it did great transparencies, but it was a feature I rarely used.
So I was willing to get the little CanoScan LiDE 200. I'm tempted to give it three stars, but I'll go with the premise that the compactness comes at a price.
The Canon installed easily enough in Windows XP. On my desktop computer it runs pretty quickly. The software has some inconveniences relative to the Epson (when the Epson worked). The Canon can zoom in better for cropping on previews. I could not find a 4800 dpi setting, although I can set it to 1200 dpi and magnify. For scanning documents and prints this much resolution ... Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001)

I bought this printer about a year ago. It has been no end of trouble. On the rare occasion it has worked it has produced acceptable prints, but often with banding and lines. Its function is appalling. It is fussy, spends minutes and minutes and minutes gyrating and whirring and doing nothing only to end with an error message. It uses vast amounts of ink which is expensive and most of the ink is consumed in the cleaning process and the whirring that it does. I really recommend that you do not buy this printer. You will spend time with service agents, tearing your hair out, screaming at the thing saying, 'why is it doing that,' when in the end it does nothing. The paper jams, and the mechanics operate inconsistently. Avoid this printer at all costs.

Canon Pixma MP830 Office All-In-One Inkjet Printer (0583B002)

We have just recently purchased this product about 3 weeks ago, so far it is working great. We haven't used the scan,copy or fax, however the printer is working great. I agree that it seems to be a bit of an ink hog, but we are looking into having it print only using the black ink instead of color. At this time it'seems the color is running out a lot faster than the black.
