This was a life saver for me. I edit digital video & used all of my memory on my Macbook Pro in a matter of 3 months. I am sure I will need more then the TB that I got. I will defiantly buy another Lacie product.

I got this a little while ago. It's been a very positive experience. I use it to hold large video files we use at my church. Being the audio/visual technician, it's nice to have a bunch more space. It links up to my computer nicely. I suppose it's a little cumbersome to carry the power cord for it as well, but I'm so used to that it doesn't bother me at all. I use the Firewire port most of the time and it seems fast and easy. The look is sleek and clean. The blue light is a nice added effect. All I can say is that this is a good purchase if you are looking for a good quality external hard drive.

I have had the drive for for less than one week but on day one I copied 100 GB of video files to the drive. It was quick using the FireWire 800 cable. The drive seems to be very sturdy and well built. I like it much better than the Western Digital Passport drives that I have used in the past. I have had 3 out of 5 WD drives fail. I hope that this one will give me better results.

Clean, beautiful, minimalist design. It has become my main photo backup drive, due to it's speedy file transfer. For 1TB, I could not find a better price for the amount of storage. LaCie drive has been very reliable so far.

I haven't put it under extensive use but so far it seems to be very rugged and has performed flawlessly backing up a pc laptop. The extra ports are great and give faster options. I would definitely use this as a direct to disk option using a laptop and firewire video camera. It also runs great off of bus power using any of the available ports. I would highly recommend this drive.

The only thing you can count on with LaCie drives is that they will fail within a year. Save yourself the money and the headache (I lost two within twelve months of very light use).

This Hard drive works just as advertised with no problems whatsoever. I use it with Time Machine through firewire and it's extremely fast, with no issues. I also keep it in my bookbag everyday, so it gets its share of shifting around and stuff being on top of it and it works just like the first day. I am very satisfied

The LaCie Rugged All Terrain Portable Drive is a great value. I have seen it advertised in computer magazines for $30 more. It is easy to carry and simple to use. Connect, and it works like magic. I use it with Time Machine with my MacBook Pro. It is the easiest portable drive that I have!
