Transcend 32GB SSD, 2.5- Inch, IDE, MLC

Despite the fact that people complain about this drive being slow, the fact remains that they all are using Windows. Windows, both XP and Vista have two factors that make this drive suck when used with Windows.

These are the following:

A. Windows has a ton of background processes that always are accessing the disk, such as the indexing service and system restore.

B. Windows uses NTFS, a dilapidated old filesystem that is very inefficient, and it's journaling doesn't suffice with these drives. It's probable that even SLC (the "faster" models) will still be just as slow as a result of running Windows.

I have only used one of the two in a Nikon D-80 so far. It is directly readable by my 9 of 2 reader built into my lcd screen, although I have not installed the Nikon software on my computer. This product allows me to take picture at four to five frames a second. It also holds 500 hi-res pictures per card. Since they were about $20 each, they were a good buy.

I got the unit fast and put it into an external USB case. The drive does not come "ready to use" as it must be initialized in "Disk Management" and then allocated to NTSF format and maybe even mapped.
Once I figured all that out, the drive is quick - reliable and of course, silent.
It consumes so little power that the "Y" cable USB with the enclosure is not needed, but also, the LED on the enclosure (I bought separately) does NOT come on.
So you get a plain SSD which is fast and silent and energy smart. Which works great but requires some formatting and disk management before you can use it.

First time using a GPS and found it much easier than anticipated. Took it for a test drive and found that its knowledge of local shortcut was a little weak, but it does get you where you need to go. Don't get concerned by the French instructions loose in the box. The English instructions were in a packet with the warranty information. Delivery was prompt and to my door step, a very positive experience.

Transcend JM667QSU-4GK 4GB JetRam DDR2 667 SO-DIMM Kit

Although Windows Vista 32 bits can only use maximum 3GB as main memory, I purchased this 4GB set and use remaining 1GB as RAM so that internet cache and temporary file can be stored there. As soon as installed this memories, without any confliction I could set up 1GB RAM and so far no trouble.

At first I was skeptical about this drive since the price was so low, but I decided to give it a try. I have been using my thumb drive daily for about 7 months and have never had a problem with it. It is a great product. I also love the color because it keeps my coworkers from borrowing it and claiming that it's theirs when I go looking for it. It comes with a handy clip and lanyard so you can hang it around your neck or attach it to your key chain (which is what I do). I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a portable drive with a lot of space.
