I bought this head unit mostly because I wanted one that would interface well with the iPhone 3G (i.e. provide power AND sound, instead of just using a standard auxiliary jack which also works fine but requires you buy a separate car charger). So far, so good. I do have some gripes with the design of the unit and the menu - but I think just like all things new, it just takes some getting used to. Sounds great with my factory speakers.

Amazon sells the Altec Lansing XM3120 for 16.95.
This unit works with skyfi3 (use the included Roady XT adapter) but, the volume adjustment knob on the XM3120 will NOT work with the SKYFi3. To adjust volume, use the volume controls on the side of the SKYFi3, or the SKYFi3's remote control.

The skyfi3 radios may also work with Roady XT home kits, but I haven't looked into this.
I ordered the Altec Lansing XM3120 yesterday; I like this unit better than any home kit.

New comment: I just received the Altec Lansing unit, and its volume knob WORKS. To change the volume you can use this knob, or the skifi3 remote control (or the radio volume).

First, let me say one thing - the Sirius description of what comes with this radio is misleading. They claim it has an AC adapter. It does not; it has a DC adapter. The difference is that with an AC adapter you can use it in your house... without paying $40 (more than the radio costs) for a "home kit." That is, if you don't have a spare 12V power supply you can splice into a cigarette lighter outlet from Radio Shack.

Second, the sound quality is fairly poor; not terrible, but certainly not what you get from the standard stereos in Chrysler and Dodge cars with Sirius. There's a certain dullness that can't be adjusted out.

I have a mid-sized SUV and it is also a new car. The factory stereo sytem in the car was plenty loud but didnt bring the quality bass level i was looking for. I was able to install this system in about 3-4 hours and you can wire it into your existing factory head unit. It delivers ample bass and isn't too loud where the whole neighborhood knows you have it.(I live in St. Louis and people are always jackin' stereo systems) I only run it at about 50% power but thats about where it peaks out. So all-in-all A good system, good price, and easy install.

Great head unit! I bought this to replace an Eclipse AV8132 that recently got destroyed. This unit is much more intuitive and easy to use, far more versatile with the number of inputs and seems to be a much higher quality product to boot. Everything is set up to be as easy to use as possible. Flash memory and iPod control are plug-and-play. It simply couldn't be any easier! The only reason this got 4 stars rather than 5 is because it only has 2 sets of outputs. One more pair and this unit would be perfect!

these speakers really kick. they have outstanding bass response and are perfect for limited spaces as in my extended cab s10.

This unit is not for everybody, but if you want a simple, inexpensive low-end MP3 player for your car, it may be for you.

The AM-FM radio has digital tuning and works fine, but has no presets. If you feel you need 30 station presets, don't buy this.

The MP3 player has front panel slots for an SDHC card as well as a USB thumb drive. Buttons allow you to skip up/down one song, 10 songs, or a complete file. Additional controls include a rotary volume control (way better than pushbuttons in my opinion), a rotary "tone" knob that doesn't do much, a MUTE button, a LOUD button which is supposed to enhance bass and treble but doesn't have much effect, clock setting buttons and the file control buttons. Great concept! Too bad they didn't apply the technology to this product. It does everything but navigate. The card had no info on it, we had to request a card with maps so the thing could actually navigate, then it still didn't work. If we had followed the directions it gave us in our semi, we would either be stuck in an alley in Greece, or somewhere in the Pacific ocean. We returned it. Thank goodness Antonline is good about refunds! We're back with Garmin and are getting around just fine.
