I have used this product a little over a month now and have no major issues with the unit. The only problem I have had so far is with the fm transmitter, because my antenna is in the rear of the car so it does not pick up the signal too well so there is a lot of static. For the price there is no other product in the market that can meet the TomTom 720 specs, such as bluetooth, voice guided directions, mp3 player, and so much more. By far the best feature is the quick re-routing directions, for example if you miss a turn or exit it will quickly calculate another route. Buy a Garmin! My sister buys Garmins & never has any problems with them. I've used this 4 times. The third time I tried to use it it took 10 minutes to turn on. The fourth time it took about 25 minutes to turn on. Now it does absolutely nothing at all. The green light comes on but there is no picture & no sound. It's just a blank screen. I just wasted $144.

After much consideration I finally broke down and bought into satellite ratio. I ended up purchasing the Sportster 5 because you can get the best of XM added to your Sirius package. So far the radio is great! I can't believe how much I like. It looks really nice and is very easy to use. Reception is very good. I ended up having it professionally installed for a cleaner look and added the FM direct connection.

The 9500ix is the perfect radar detector. It's quiet, has great sensitivity, and alerts to Red Light Cameras.

I have used, in order, the Passport 8500, Passport 8500 X50, Valentine One, Passport 8500 X50 Rev. 5, and now the 9500ix. The 9500ix beats them hands down.

Why? It has great range, seems to have a sixth sense for cop radar, alerts to Red Light Cameras (which are a major hassle in my area ... the fine is over $400 each including fees), and it's quiet!

If you use a chatterbox V1 that makes you think your head is about to explode, give the 9500ix a try. You will be amazed how well a detector can work while still being super quiet.

Sony XDRF1HD HD Radio Tuner

I was thrilled to find a reasonable price on this unit. However, it's ability to receive FM is compromised and the HD is impossible. Rooftop dedicated RF antenna with no FM blocks...disappointing reception for sure. It's compact size is unique and utilitarian. Apart from poor performance, I like it. But then again, I like some empty cigar boxes too but they don't pull in RF freq either. I had a Sony STJ-75 previously and it worked well-prior to the lightening attack years ago that is.

The Navigon 2200T 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigation with Text-to-Speech and Free Traffic Alerts is packed with features, fairly easy to setup with menu's grouped intellingently for general and specific settings. If you are new to GPS technology as I was (Yeah, I know Johnny come lately) be aware that it does take a considerable amount of time for the GPS to locate it's position the very first time you use it. I took mine outside, placed it on a chair and left it for about 35 minutes before it finally logged it's position the first time. Also the subsequent searches for new destinations can take 3-4 Minutes (not the 2 or less it states.)

I am not too fan in getting fancy car radios with DVD players, screens and stuff. For me, a simple radio is more than enough.

Specially this one, has everything I need. Has a WMA/MP3 CD player and an AUX-IN so you can plug your own mp3 player. FYI, the AUX-IN port uses a 1/8 jack, so you can plug any MP3 player with a standard headphone jack, just get a 3.5mm stereo cable and you are good to go!

Very user-friendly configuration for its settings also. You dont have to struggle to get your EQ the way you want, as well as clock for example.

I strongly recommend this Car Stereo!

Xantrex Technologies 851-0400 XPower Plus 400-Watt Inverter

Several of the Xantrex inverters including this one have much looser frequency specs compared to the last generation of inverters which were typically 60 Hz +/- 0.01%. Many of the current crop of these inverters have 60 +/-4 Hz which is 60 Hz +/- 7%. To be fair, I've noticed a number of inverters made by other companies also have relaxed this spec. I measured the output frequency of several models and found their outputs to range from 58 Hz to 64 Hz. I didn't test to see if the frequency changed with temperature, input voltage, load, or other other factors. I suppose the reason for this change in specs is that these manufacturers are now cost cutting to the extent of eliminating a 30 cent quartz crystal.
