I was very impressed with this product. It works well for what we need it for. As far as the UPS shipping goes, is there a way you could just mail it out via the Post Office? With the UPS, I had to wait 3 extra days to meet up the UPS guy to receive the GPS, as I was out when he delievered all 3 times. That would be my only comment/question.

I purchased the Navibe GM720 without having much prior knowledge of USB GPS units and finding very little in regards to customer reviews/feedback of the unit.

My Navibe GM720 is connected to my laptop which runs Microsoft MapPoint 2009. In my line of work I'm on the road all the time and constantly find myself in places which I am not familiar. Previously, I relied on Google Maps on my cell phone for directions. This worked well except for the small screen and lack voice directions.

A recent trip found me in Fairbanks, Alaska in temps around -15F. The Navibe GM720 was on top of my van overnight even though the laptop was taken into the hotel room. The next morning, I connected it to my laptop and by the time the MapPoint ... Read More:

Product arrived on-time. Excellent price on Amazon (through Warehouse Deals versus current market price). Fairly easy to install. Have used on aggressive mountain bike trails (mounting method is solid) and on the road. Have also used it to navigate with - this is not going to give you Car GPS functionality. Any route you want to follow you will need to pre-load and use BikeRouteToaster or other application to make a .crs file - some fiddling required - the result is a black line you will need to follow (no map / other roads shown). I used it for Bike to Work week and followed a route through the center of Baltimore on quiet back streets - no problem - 1st time I used the unit out of the box. Happy so far.
