Have used this unit since Oct 2003 for hiking and in my genealogy research on my family and for others. The unit will loose satellite reception in dense woods but most of the time it will work. The go to feature is good for finding your car you left on the side of the road or a lost cemetery you entered as a waypoint from a USGS map. The built in base maps are fun to play with, but I find useless in the field for me. I set the zoom feature to AUTO and don't see any map features most of the time. As the Legend is an older model unit, I would recommend you spend a few additional dollars and get one of the newer Garmin handhelds. This is a great product. The Bluetooth and MP3 player work flawlessly. I have found that I can be confident in the route given by the GPS. I'm sometimes confused as to why it will choose a long route to get from point A to point B. However, it always gets me where I'm going.

The TomTom 720 a beautiful machine with a lot of cool features. But the routing is dreadful so often that we have to bring maps along -- which kind of defeats the purpose of a GPS.

Our older, cheaper, slower, not-very-beautiful Garmin is MUCH more reliable.

We live in Eastern Pa. and do most of our driving here. The road network is very old and established so it is not a matter of out of date maps. It's just the TomTom's routing algorithm. If we're not paying attention, the TomTom will take us 20 miles out of our way -- and these are repeat incidents so I know it's machine error, not user error. Even in our neighborhood, sometimes it inexplicably has us go in completely the wrong direction and takes wildly circuitous routes.

I have been trying to unlock the city navigator NT that was purchased with this unit. I have tried everything I know. The web site is terrible and trying to email product support does not work. Buy something else. This is terrible.

Very accurate.
Easy to use.
Affordable.
Amazing little device.
I'm not talking to Professional Land Surveyors and Airliner Pilots here.
Or over-the-road long-haul trans-continental tractor-trailer drivers.
I'm talking to little people like me.
Who just want to know exactly where they are.
And where other points are.
When it tells you your elevation- (I think it calls it altitude)-
you will be amazed at how close it comes.
The farthest off mine ever was on the elevation was 50 feet.
Sometimes it is within 10 or 15 feet accurate on both the location and the elevation.
If you are like me, never having had a GPS receiver before now-
I don't think you will go wrong with this one.

stop looking for yardage markers you have all you need now
you can down load 10 courses at once. every course i want to play is listed.others you have to e mail and they will map for you this is not the case i cant imagine golf without it

Garmin Hard Carrying Case for Colorado Handheld GPS Units

I purchased the Garmin hard case with the intentions of buying a case that not only traveled well but stored my Garmin Colorado safely when not in use. It has lived up to both of my expectations. With the lid design you never have to worry about losing the lid or it being in the way. The rugged outside protects your investment and can take some abuse. I use this case while kayaking and while hiking. I would highly recommend this simple case design.

Nokia 500 4.3'' Portable GPS Navigator with Bluetooth

Used it for 3 days. Hard to enter address to navigate to. Once that is accomplished, navigation itself is acceptable. I think I will keep it.

Its stock voice is pleasant.. Screen image is clear and crisp..
We've used ours driving from Chicago to Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and the whole way to Vermont! We were never lost..
One complaint ~ the car adaptor got broken after plugging & unplugging under normal usage..
Would purchase again if I needed to..
