I bought this unit because I am a Mac user and when shopping for a GPS this was the only one that touted itself as "Mac compatable." After trying to download the proper software I discovered it wouldn't work because I don't have a Intel-based Mac that will run Parallels Desktop. "...Parallels Desktop allows a user to run a Virtual machine (Guest OS) inside a windowed environment but is only supported under Windows XP..." This is COMPATABLE? Let's talk about available courses. I live in Oregon and SureShot lists a total of 78 courses in Oregon available for download. SkyCaddie lists about 175 Oregon courses and GolfLogix has well over 200. If I could do it all over again, I would buy one of these units which are roughly the same price.
Installed this product in trunk of car. Installation was painless and only difficulty was finding an "always on" electrical line. Product came with sufficient material and wire length for installation into most locations. Product seemed real inconsistent first 24 hours it was turned on, I was almost to the point of considering returning it when it suddenly seemed to "sync up" and has been rock steady since. Not sure why this is but power cycling it a couple times may have done the trick. Otherwise works exactly as advertised but purchasers should be aware:
Notification of entry or exit from a custom zone may be up to 15 minutes delayed, since product only polls location every 15 minutes. When you do get notification it does report location of ... Read More:

I bought and used this plotter over the summer of 2008 in Maine. While better than nothing the screen is really too small to be useful. If you zoom out to get a range of a few miles, you lose chart detail. The screen keys on the cursor, and it can then be difficult to find the arrow indicating the boat position again. I would have returned it, but Amazon has only a 30 day return policy on unused items. So you buy it and try it, you own it. Unless you have a very small craft, buy a plotter with a larger screen.
Great concept! Too bad they didn't apply the technology to this product. It does everything but navigate. The card had no info on it, we had to request a card with maps so the thing could actually navigate, then it still didn't work. If we had followed the directions it gave us in our semi, we would either be stuck in an alley in Greece, or somewhere in the Pacific ocean. We returned it. Thank goodness Antonline is good about refunds! We're back with Garmin and are getting around just fine.
The display is dim & hard to see/read. Back light is not very bright. Tried replacing batteries (twice) still no improvement in the display. Returned the unit one day after receiving.

I've played with my SG2 for a few rounds and since then my best round dropped from a 95 to an 87 - twice in a row. It's given me more confidence in my shots and has made the game a lot more fun - no more hunting for markers or sprinkler heads!
The first time I used it, I didn't give it time to orient itself and it didn't work at all. My bad.
Since then, I give it 10 minutes on my golf bag before a round to get oriented and it's ready to go. It has worked perfectly. I purchased it because of the intelligreen feature and this has been worth every penny! Being able to target specific areas of the green and knowing its shape has saved me many strokes and is a real confidence booster when you're shooting over hazards. The extra information is a lot more useful ... Read More:

I bought the SkyCaddie 2.5 after a lot of research and reviews. Spoke with SkyGolf sales and was told the SG3 and SG4 were being discontinued. The 2.5 and SG5 were the replacements because of software problems in the past. I purchased locally and went online and subscribed to the nationwide option because I live in Washington state and travel frequently. I use Vista and had no problems at all getting started. I change my downloaded courses often and have had no issues.
Playing with the 2.5 has been great. I am dialing in the yardage with each club very accurately using the mark function. On the occasional wrong fairway drive, :) I used the 2.5 to not only get me the yardage, but I quickly got out of the way of the golfers playing the correct fairway. One hole in particular, ... I bought the Moov 300 because it was on sale for $150. At this price, its a bargain. The interface is excellent, its easy to use, and seems durable enough. However, my delight was gone when I tried to find some common points of interest (POI) and when I tried navigating from my office to home. Strangely, this unit had very few museums in it, which is strange because people like to visit museums when they are on vacation and more likely to use a portable GPS. It didn't list either the Children's Museum in Denver or the Denver Museum of Science and Nature, though it did list the Denver Zoo. This was a real deal killer. To top it off, it suggested 17-18 mile routes to my office, when my regular commute is 12 miles. I returned this unit after a few days and got a Garmin Nuvi 255W. Yes, ... Read More:
So, finally I got my nuvi. It was a tough choice: many GPS carriers are available, and each has many models that come in vast variety of flavors. I've narrowed it down to Nuvi 550 for the following reasons:
1. Text to speech to me is really annoying. I want my GPS to tell me when and where to make a turn, and not worry about spending extra time looking off the road to confirm street signs.
2. I wanted my GPS to help me out more than just driving directions. I hike, I camp, I travel all over, and not just North America. I wanted the versatility of being able to navigate and pin point my location on the highway, in the mountains, offroad, and not just be able to locate nearest gas station. Before Nuvi 500/550 I would have had to purchase 2 GPS units: one for the ... Read More:
The greatest thing for the wrong turn person. I wonder though how it chooses it's routes sometime. When it tells you to make a right and you know that the left is quicker. But then, I use it when I need to go somewhere new. It is even better now that I upgraded the maps. ($70.00) It will be in my car forever.
