So far everything I have purchased from this company has been an outstanding value. Supermarket Vanilla Beans are far too expensive for just a few bent dried beans in a small jar to use in my kitchen frequently without a tinge of feeling like I've been had. So many recipes and so few beans. Not so with J&R products: Generous amounts at a value price with fresh products of excellent quality. Shipping is prompt.These beans are long and fresh and full of moist vanilla seeds. I place the scraped husks in a jar of sugar to flavor it for other casual recipes like Cinnamon sugar on toast for the kids or flavoring coffee. What else could one ask for? Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream (without breaking the bank) anyone?

Pure Cinnamon Oil

I promise you, you will not find better cinnamon oil than this, nor one that is more concentrated. Beware! Use very, very sparingly! This is strong, strong stuff. I have tried several brands over the years and this is by far the best, both quality and price wise.

This is the 2nd time I've purchased these vanilla beans. Prior to this I would purchase vanilla beans at the retail store (bakery supply or grocery). I was so disappointed in the quality of those beans that I was ready to stop using vanilla beans altogether. The beans came in a plastic vial and when I opened them they were so dry they were brittle. How happy I was to get my first order from JR Mushrooms. They were fresh, large and delivery was quick and accurate. I have and will continue to recommend this product & company. Lindberg Snider Porterhouse & Roast Seasoning 14oz.

I first found Porterhouse Seasoning when it was called Prime Rib Seasoning in a little fish shop on the Oregon Coast. I bought 1 and when I went back I bought out the shop. Since then I have had a tough time finding the product. I slather a roast in Dijon mustard and the liberally sprinkle the seasoning and the put the roast on the rotisserie. When all is said and done, I have a roast with a flavorful crust and a juicy core.
What I have not been able to find is "Lemon Up" by Lindberg & Snyder. I found Lindberg & Snyder makes a Lemon Pepper but it is not the same. This salt has a great flavor. And, a little goes a long way. I was very pleased with my order from DAS Salt/DAS Foods - fast shipping, great product, pleasant thank you note and samples included with my order. Although it's not inexpensive, an order of gourmet salts is well worth it from this company. I will be trying other varieties soon.

Nebraska Steak Salt Seasoning

This is the best stake/season salt I have found for grilling. It is odd that it comes from a recording company, but then again, most of the truly great products aren't made by typical manufactures. Anyway, the salt is great for more than just stakes. I used it on most of the beef items I throw on the grill. Oh, and sometimes the corn too. At any rate, it really helps bring out the flavor in the food! Do yourself a favor and pick some up. Happy grilling.

I love the taste of this salt, as another viewer did state the black coloring of the salt does spread. The salt crystals are a good size with out being over powering.

I cook alot with some of the most bold masalas and spice-mixes of asia: Indian, Thai, Oriental, etc. Figured another 'taste' of spice-mixes would be a fun tool to add to the mix.

First dish was a B'stilla (recipe from epicurious.com) and that turned out decent, even with vegetarian chicken substitute. I wouldn't say this spice mix stands well on it's own; If I was showcasing the spice in a meal it would almost certainly have to play a secondary role with another palatable flavor, but it's a fun flavor to throw into the mix if you like creative cooking and composition. It would have fabulous potential if you were making a sophisticated dessert or an autumn-season themed dish.
