Philips Norelco 8140XL SpeedXL Men's Shaver

My son's old Norelco fizzed out and he decided to try a Remington he purchaed on Amazon. BIG MISTAKE! The shaver gave a terrible shave and just didn't come up to the Norelco standards. I purchased a new Norelco 8140 XL Shaver for him for his birthday on Amazon and he is extremely happy with his new Norelco. He's getting a great smoothe shave, and he will be sticking with Norelco in the future.

I bought this razor and was very disappointed compared to the Braun (that I had used previously) or a wet shave with a blade. I was hoping for better results based on the reviews, but ended up agreeing with the reviews that panned this shaver. I put the shaver aside for a while and went back to wet shaving with a blade. THEN, I was told to try a wet shave with it -- I tried it again and what a difference this made!! The result was just as good as a blade shave, and I can wet shave with this faster than I can with a blade -- this is important to me as I want to minimize the time I spend shaving. i PURCHASED THIS, WHAT i ASSUMED TO BE NEW shaving part for my Norelco electric razor. I threw away the old part but thnk this one does a very poor job of shaving. I even tried using preshave which, I never had to do with the original blades. I feel the new part is not as good as what I had. In reading the manual for my norelco, which is just a little over a year, it said once a year you did need to replace the shaving bladss. This I did but cannot understand how it does such a poor job. I use my automatic cleaner and new fluid etc. I am reverting back to the old shaving creme and regular manual razor to get a decent shave. Glad you asked for this review. Chuck Wood

Philips Norelco T780 Rechargeable Vacuum Trimmer

This is about an average trimmer. The previous one I had was a Norelco and it worked better. One problem is that if you break the comb part (which is easy to do and which I did with the old one) then you have a time finding a replacement part and when you do it will cost over $15.00. Those of you who have trouble with it vacuuming properly may be holding it so that your hand is covering the vent holes in the handle. Of course this is going to make it hard to create the proper suction and air exhaust to do the vacuuming. The door for the collection chamber is a pretty flimsy device. The older one I had, had a removable chamber that was much easier to empty.

Philips Norelco arcitec 1090 Men's Shaving System

I've been using Norelco rotary shavers for the last 20+ years. I've always found them to work well and be fairly comfortable. After a few years use, instead of replacing the heads and/or battery again, I pick up the latest top of the line Norelco that's available. The Arcitec 1090 looked awesome, and I was looking forward to using it when I received it. What a disappointing product. Bottom line, it does not work nearly as well as my Quadra Action or SmartTouch XL models. I gave it some time thinking maybe my skin needed to adjust to it, but it has not improved. It just gives a poor, uncomfortable shave. I've since returned it, and ordered new heads for my older Norelco. I would seriously think twice before spending $200 on this product.

Great, this stuff is like crack: once you start using you can't stop.

But this is a ripoff. They're $6.99 each at Wal-mart and Target.

I bought this product for my grandad. I was scared at first that I had bought the wrong product but they fit his razor perfectly. He says they give him a nice clean shave. He recommends them.

I have seen lot of good reviews about this shaving system which led me to buy it. This is my first electric shaver that I have used. But my experiences with it has not been satisfactory. Before I let all my concerns out I would like to tell that my facial hair is coarse and I usually shave every 4 to 5 days which might be the reason that I am not finding this shaver good enough for me.

There is no doubt, atleast for me that this shaver takes awful more time to shave than the conventional blade razors (Mach-3). I thought it was part of getting used to it but my shaving time did not improve much in a month. Another hitch I found was that the shaver does get filled with the Nivea shaving lotion but not enough (atleast for me) for the entire shave. ... Read More:

Philips Norelco 7140 Cord/Cordless Rechargeable Shaver

I bought this so I can shave quickly and have a cut-free face. This thing is great for that! The life for this thing is about two weeks if you use it everyday and then you have to charge it, or if you want you use it with the wire on and don't have to worry about the battery. Overall, this is a great shaver for a great price compared to the stores, no lie. Highly recommended
