Philips Norelco 8240XL Men's Shaving System

I was a razor guy mostly because I didn't want to sink $100 into this but after 2 weeks of ownership, I'm happy I finally did. The convenient of shaving dry is totally worth it. I can't compare this device to other electric shavers but compared to a razor it doesn't cut as close and can be more irritating on your skin but I'm getting used to it and am so far happy with this device and my purchase. If you're considering leaving your razor, I say go for it.

This is one of the Best Grooming System's i ever had.
It is a multifunctional system with a Good Battery backup.
I strongly recommend this grooming system and you will definitely like it.

The blades are nice and the design is great (not to mention the price) but after using it for two months the size attachments continue to break at the perforations leaving the attachments utterly useless. Unless you plan to shave your beard off every single time or just shave your head, I do not recommend this product...

Philips Norelco 1050CC arcitec Men's Shaving System

I've used Norelco products for 30 years and this is the only one that has ever disappointed me. It creates skin burn and takes forever to actually shave your beard and I don't even have a tough beard. After 6 months, the cleaning stand system quit working.

I pulled out my old Norelco Cool Skin 7775X, recharged it and was surprised at how much better of a shave I got with the old razor. Now I need to find a replacement head for the old one and trash the Arcitec.

Norelco makes great products, this is the exception that proves the rule.

This is my 4th Norelco, going back quite a few years. My last one was not very good, although the first two were great. The 8160 shaves very close and can handle a two day growth. How long an electric razor stays sharp is very related to how clean it is kept, as hair in the heads will dull the blades faster. To that end, Norelco ships this razor with a motorized stand to clean the razor heads. Basically what it does is submerge the razor in the cleaning fluid and turn it on and off occasionally. So you need not buy the XLCC, just buy the 8160 XL. You can submerge the razor in fluid yourself and turn it on and off a few times to do the same thing, and not have to worry about having space to store the stand. Not much of a review, but if you have the lotion shaver, this is a good blade replacement, however, this thing is EXPENSIVE! That is why this one is getting 5 stars, but Norelco needs to lower the price on these. Good thing they last 1 full year (see package) so you only have to pay 30 a year. Just watch out for a box that is about 10x larger than the shaving replacement itself (Packaging is excessive).

I replaced another in/out shower norelco shower with this because it was getting old. I use this in the shower along with norelco shaving foam. The flex tracker works great. I have minimal irritation. Very satisfied.
