DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker

I have owned the Delonghi EC155 for over a year now, and it's generally been a good machine. You have to get used to its quirks though. (BTW: I use a Baratza Maestro burr coffee grinder.)

1. The grind holder is very small. I use the large one, and put about twice as much grounds as recommended, otherwise your espresso will be weak. This is not a good machine if you need to make several shots a day.

2. You can only use a really small espresso cup to fit under the spout.

3. The ready light seems to go on and off randomly (even if it's left on all day). I don't think there is any sort of logical reason behind the ready light.

Since I'm Italian I can claim a good experience in moka coffee.
There's nothing wrong with this one, you cannot expect the same quality as espresso. Using good coffee beans, well ground and packing it right you'll have a good coffee. Just a matter of pratice. Remember: you don't need soap to wash it, keep the fire far from the handle and change the O-ring periodically.

I use my espresso machine 1-2 times daily and save money at the coffee shop. I get my coffee and calcium at the same time. Love IT!!

OOOOHHH yyyeesssh, our old espresso maker broke and we were without... we went on a hunt and after 4 finds that didn't cut it we finally found it. This wonderful inexpensive beautiful machine has done it. From the first cup we knew that we had a winner. Rich and strong, smooth not bitter, so ends our search and the saga of the "Days without Good Coffee" PS: Sadly I'll miss the people at the shop, but we can always visit for different reasons...can't we???DeLonghi EC5 Steam-Driven 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Maker, Black

Because of the bad reviews about clogging, I passed over this machine and bought a Starbucks Sirena, which got raves (I wish people would hold off on writing reviews until they've used it many times). Anyway, the Sirena was trouble from day one and completely died at 6 months. I then bought the Breville after getting assurance that I could return it if it clogged, but it has been a fantastic machine. I've had a few espresso machines by now, and this is really the best designed one I've had. It works like a charm and has never clogged on me. (I use coffee that is ground for espresso -- even a fine ground Illy works great.) The coffee is delicious, has a nice crema, and the frothing wand works wonderfully. This machine makes the best espresso. My only complaint is that it doesn't make it quite hot enough for me. I use cream in mine, so I microwave it first and that takes care of the temperature problem.

The Mr. Coffee ECM21 is easy to use and clean. The value is unmatched and the performance has been trouble free since we got it. We have not had this machine for long but are very satisfied with it. It takes little counter space and the controls are intuitive. Though not made of the sturdiest materials (although, if you love your machine, you'll be gentle and attentive to proper maintenance), it is hard to imagine a better machine for the money. Well done, Mr. Coffee!
