Practically overnight, this immersion blender has become the essential appliance in my kitchen. It's convenient, powerful and multi-purpose. It is a godsend for making smoothies (which I do for my son almost every morning) and soups (which I do often). What a treat to no longer have to haul out and clean the big old blender! I love this product because it's glass and the pyrex lids always seal very well, but just be aware that the containers are a little bit smaller than you think. Still a good value.

I bought these because of all of the reports about plastics leaking into your food when you microwave plastic containers. Best purchase ever! The variety of sizes are perfect. The lids fit very tight, which is great when you're transporting soup as I often do in the winter. I use them almost daily!

This thing is amazing. We haven't found anything that even tries to stick to it. This pad has literally paid for itself by saving us from having to buy parchment paper as frequently.

One concern I had at first before buying the pad was that the bottoms of baked items like cookies wouldn't be as crispy as before but those fears were unfounded. Heat conducts pretty well through the pad and the bottoms of cookies, biscuits, etc. are the same as they'd have been with a regular oiled metal pan.

I enjoy the Heinekin draft beer, but two problems hope someone can help with. 1. The first third of the keg is very very foamy. I and my Bartender friend have tried drawing many different ways. Nothing works to control Foam. 2. live in MN and cannot get Heinekin Light in Keg. Anybody know why?

Ped Egg Pedicure Foot File

The Ped Egg is truly an amazing product at a great price. I ordered one based on a friend's recommendation. It is easy to use and leaves you feeling like you just had a pedicure. It smoothes my dry, cracked heels and my feet in general. I have tried expensive creams for my cracked heels and it softened but did not help the cracking. This product really works! It is neat and tidy, the "shavings" are deposited inside the egg for emptying into the trash bin (you'll be amazed!) The bottom of the egg has a stick-on emery board attachment for smoothing your feet all over. I highly recommend this product to anyone with dry feet, callouses or thick skin patches on their feet. The Ped Egg will work wonders for you!

Oxo Good Grips Flexible Vegetable Brush

The ergonomics are great. It's rigid, but has a slightly rubberized, uniform grip.

I do feel that the bristles are a bit soft, but that's ok. I use this a lot for mushrooms and tomatoes, which are fairly soft to begin with. In most cases, I peel or remove the skin from tubers. However, I like to cook my potatoes with the skin on. This brush doesn't do the best job on hard, low-starch, waxy potatoes (small red potato, white fingerling) that you'd use for potato salads, for example.

It's very easy to clean and survives the dishwasher (for 2 months so far at least).

SteamFast SF-407 1500-Watt Fabric Steamer

I purchased this steamer after looking at all the available ones offered by Amazon. I think it works great and the price was very reasonable. Of course you have to be careful while you are using it, as you are working with steam, but that is just common sense. It works wonderful on knits and cotton blends such as polo and t-shirts, and pants, but don't expect to get a pressed, starched look as you would with an iron (and a lot more work) on 100% cotton items. It is great for touch ups on all types of frabics.

Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner

This is the second Presto pressure canner we have purchased. A smaller one was purchased in 2004 and has received much service for home canning. We bought the 23 quart size since it can be used as a pressure canner and is tall enough to also serve as a water bath canner for quart jars. With the 23 quart size you can stack pint jars on top one another for two layers which is a great time saver when you have a lot of food to can. We have not used the canner for cooking large amounts of food, but there is a recipe book enclosed instructing how to use the unit as a cooker. Canning instructions are clear and many foods are covered. This canning season we used both canners at once with excellent results.
