Back To Basics Apple and Potato Peeler

Does a nice job of slicing, peeling and coring apples that are fairly evenly shaped all the way around. Not so good at all three operations when the apple is not evenly shaped. Had to remove them from the peeler and do them by hand....which were quite a few. Also need to continually check the alignment of the slicer/corer to make sure they were in line with the feed arm otherwise it can be easily bent out of shape. Haven't tried it yet with potatoes.

I enjoy being the breakfast man of the house. This is much more than an toaster. It is a breakfast machine. I love it! Both the hard boiled and poached eggs are perfect every time. Remember to "punch the hole" in the top of the hard boiled egg w/the provided cup, then the eggs won't "pop" and leak. Keep the unit clean (which is not difficult at all). Enjoy, I do....

This was a very good purchase. I used all the tools when canning and it made it much easier for me to can properly. I especially liked the magnet to assist with getting lids out of boiling water. That was very handy during the canning process.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to use, makes frothy, hot drinks. I have had no problems with it as other reviewers have stated. I use it every day. Beats paying high prices at the store for a cappuccino!

Back to Basics Stainless Steel Stove-Top Popper

Were it not for the quality of the popcorn this popper makes, I would have rated it no higher than a 2. The lid design is very frustrating and fits the kettle poorly, usually resulting in the lid popping off the kettle mid-way through the popping process. There are so many gaps between the lid and the kettle that I have to cover the lid with a hot pad to keep hot oil from splattering me and the top of the stove. Surely there is a stove-top popper out there that makes good popcorn and is designed well. Let me know if you find one.

Back to Basics 174 Magnetic Lid Lifter

This little gadget allows you to magnetically pick up the lids from the hot simmering water for your canning jars. Saves burned finger tips, and proves much more sanitary than other methods. Had hoped for a bit more umph in the magnet, but I suppose then it would pick up two lids? I would highly recommend, and now wouldn't be without it!

Back to Basics SITCS25LP Snow Cone Cups and Straws

At the time of this writing, this sells for $3.49 which I think is just the sweet spot. The cones are nice and does not drip . The multiple colored straws are similar to the one used on Slurpees with a flattened end to scoop ice. Cones are strong enough as long as you do not poke it hard with the straws.

We've had this product for approximately 1 month and as a family of four at least one of us is using this daily. We haven't noticed any bad smells coming from it.....just the wonderful, warm scent of a healthy, quick breakfast cooking. I'd like to order at least 2 more for gifts and the people I work with all want to chip in on one to use at the office....but they aren't available right now. My only complaint would be that they are too difficult to obtain in a timely manner.

At this time there are 4 reviewers that raved about this thing. It's OK. There was a smell out of the box that disappeared after one washing. There is no way it will pop 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup at a time. We have the setting on high with new expensive popcorn in it, the stuff that is a guys name, and it takes so long to pop it will burn. If we stop it before it burns, eat the popcorn that has popped, and put it back in the rest will get popped. Total time in the microwave is about 7 minutes - too much of our time. It is hot when it comes out but I'm able to handle it with my bare hands by grabbing the lip without touching the body of the bowl. I will keep using it but the Presto, which I dumped because the paper trays are hard to find locally, is a better ... Read More:
