This canner is a good price and works well. However it is best for 7 small mouth jars as the large mouth ones fit too tight in the rack and tricky to remove.

It works out well for us. It's a fairly large pan that's used for multiple purposes. Outside of its use for the yearly Thanksgiving turkey and dressing of our medium sized family (four), it also accommodates our baked and barbecued chickens.

Granite Ware 18-Inch Covered Oval Roaster

Arrived with a large, 5 inch long dent on the lip, preventing the lid from sitting right and exposing the bare metal beneath the enamel. The metal is crude steel, protected only by the enamel, so it would rust in nothing flat.

The roaster was inside a box inside another box, so I can only assume the company packaged a defective item. There was a prominent sticker on the INSIDE box to the effect 'refuse shipping if product damaged'. Well the UPS man is long gone, and here I have a broken roaster. Way to recoup damaged inventory, "Colombian Home Products"!

Bought this for my first attempt at preserving. It was so easy to use and has solid construction. It arrived REALLY early and the communications with the ace outlet was fast as well. I would highly recommend this.

Package was in excellent condition when delivered. All parts were separately wrapped to avoid damage especially the spicket. The steamer is great and allows for ample space to cook lobsters for the entire family. 4 two pounders with no problem or boil over.

This set was very helpful in making my first serious foray into canning a success. I'm particularly enamored of the rack, which holds the quart jars securely, and makes lowering them into the boiling water a whole lot safer and easier than my old, rack-free method (which consisted of dropping 'em in and hoping the hot water splashed somewhere other than on my hand)- ditto with removing them. In addition, Amazon's price was far and away the best I found anywhere. I'm really looking forward to eating fresh-canned nectarines in January!
