This is my first pressure cooker, and I also had to replace a 10 year old crock pot, so the 1 product doing both appealed to me. I have used it as the pressure cooker and the crock pot option, both work well. Having not used a pressure cooker before, I can't compare, but I have tried several recipes in this cooker and found they work well, even with the lower psi as other reviews noted. I love the brown feature, allows you to quickly brown meats in the same pan as you are planning to use for slow cooking or pressure. Clean up is really easy with coated pan. I love the item but it took a month to get it. The tomatoes were done before it came in the mail. It started in Michigan went to Maryland and back to Michigan before I got it.

Fagor Silicon Gasket

I needed the gasket to replace my slightly worn one - and now I've done that, my meals are coming out as they should. I have been using an old gasket which was slightly melted in one spot, and I believe that compromised the cooker. I wish I had ordered 2 of these, so as to have one in storage instantly for the next time I need one!

Fagor Splendid 6-Quart Pressure Cooker

I have a Presto 4 qt. pressure cooker which I like a lot, but wanted something bigger so I bought the Fagor 6 qt. The inside diameter of the Fagor is 8 3/4" vs 8 3/8" for the Presto, 3/8" difference which may not seem like much, but I cook mostly with stainless steel inserts, bowls and the like, to get the double boiler effect, and it's easier to get the bowls out of the Fagor, a tricky job when they are still hot. But the Fagor makes a hissing sound at a pitch I didn't like at all. So I went back to the Presto which makes a nice chuga-chuga sound with the little cap rocking back and forth, a sound I actually find pleasing (I'm a violinmaker, so sound matters to me). Fagor Duo 8-Quart Pressure Cooker

This pressure cooker is a wonderful invention. I haven't used the steamer basket yet because I primarily bought it for cooking dried beans. Beans turn out superb in the cooker; with a little olive oil there's almost no need for any other flavorings and they're cooked in 1/4 to 1/2 the time it used to take me in a cast iron pot. Plus I don't even bother to pre-soak. Just throw them in dry. Incredibly easy to use and care for, I highly recommend getting this model. Cheers!

Fagor Duo Combi 5-Piece Pressure Cooker Set

I am a first time user of pressure cooker. After the first use( made some lentil soup the inside of the pan, on the bottom it turn to colorful, red and purple marks. I have 5 stainless steel pan and none of them turn to be colorful after 5 and 6 years use. I am quite concerned that what caused stainless steel to become colorful. Stainless steel are not supposed to react with the food. By the way the lentil's color is yellow. Give it 2 star because it is very easy to use and works fine except this annoying colorful bottom.

Fagor Splendid 10-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner

This pressure cooker is the poorest quality I have ever seen. The lid fits so loose that it can not build up any pressure. I had the stove on high fo 40 minutes and it never built up any pressure at all. The steams leaked out from all around the edges of the lid. I would not recommend this at all.

Fagor 4-Piece Egg Poacher Set

Just a thought/note on those worried about the teflon issue. Since you are poaching with this, that means you are using water/steam. By definition (physics) that means the teflon will never heat up over boiling (100 degrees celsius/212 F). This is generally a fairly low heat.

However, once Teflon starts to flake off, you might want to toss it...

nice product because i can use it to pressure cook my half pint jars of jelly i make from my apple tree. I can also use it to cook other types of meat and come out nice and tender. The clean up is a breese no sticking to the pan and basket.
