The unit would be much better if the housing unit itself were made out of metal rather than plastic. This is my second time replacing the unit because of a crack in the plastic housing.

KitchenAid 9704230 blender coupling.

Instructions for replacing the coupling are better if you read the other reviews on how to remove the coupling wherein you stick a flat blade screwdriver at the base of the blender to rpevent the motor from turning as opposed to following enclosed instructions.

Part will work perfectly once replaced but YES I do recommend that you pick 2 or 3 pcs at time of order as I can see the part failing after a short while due to the soft compound of the rubber but what the heck it is cheap enough and you can do it yourself.

It's very quiet, feels tough. I would actually like a slow speed, as well as pulse and on. It goes together well, although the main bowl is not as big as I expected when you consider overflow from the middle spindle. Sometimes it doesn't chop all the food until it's pulverised - I couldn't get coarse chopped tomatoes that didn't have chunks, but overall I like it.

KitchenAid JE Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment

I have used various hand and electric juicers in the past, and none has worked any better than this one. It is a bit noisy and the supplied pulp filter needs to be supplemented with a secondary filter after squeezing. This is more than offset by ease of use and cleaning.
If you already own/are planning on buying a kitchen aid stand mixer and you squeeze citrus, this is a very worthwhile investment.

I chose this model because of its Simmer temperature: 185F degrees. I expect it to work very well with modern cook books, neither cooking slower or faster than expected, nor burning or undercooking food, as can be a problem if your machine's low setting is too extreme. I have been using the Simmer setting when recipes call for Low, and I'm very happy with the results. So far I've had no surprises; beans and chicken seem to cook within expected time ranges. I'm not an experienced slow cooker user, but I researched as much as I could about temperatures in slow cookers, and this setting seems ideal for when most recipes call for low.

KitchenAid KPCG100NP Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder, Nickel Pearl

I bought this after reading the rave reviews. I have been using a refurb Cuisinart burr grinder which I use for drip (melitta type) w/ a paper cone. The grind I get from the Cuisinart is uniformly fine & the coffee is excellent. But since it's kind of falling apart, I thought I'd spring for the extra money for the Kitchenaid. What a disappointment!! The finest grind has larger grains interspersed w/the fine grains. Moreover, it simply stopped working altogether after I used it 3 times!! I called Kitchenaid customer service who asked if I used oily beans as if that was some kind of cardinal sin. If a Kitchenaid can't handle oily beans and a cheapie Cuisinart can, well then Kitchenaid needs to go back to the drawing board. Needless to say, ... Read More:

This KitchenAid stick blender is versatile, powerful, and easy to use/clean.

I like the chopper attachment it actually works very well.

The unit seems to be well made and I believe it will last a long time.
