I bought this because I grind my own oat and flax. This doesn't grind as fine as I would like. It says not to go past 25 sec in grinding at one time. It also says not to start and stop. So what I do is grind it for 25 sec let it rest and go again three times. This does make the grain much finer. Another reason I love this one is the plastic doesn't get chipped in the grinding of grain. My old black and decker did and when that happens you are getting plastic into your food.

Other coffee grinders the cover is on the inside of the grinder. Because of that after grinding so many times the plastic starts to chip off into your food. The cover on this on is on the outside so the grain or coffee beans does not hit against the plastic. ... Read More:

KitchenAid KFP740CR 9-Cup Food Processor with 4-Cup Mini Bowl, Chrome

My son-in-law is a serious cook. He selected this food processor. While visiting my daughter and son-in-law, we have been enjoying using it. When we return home, we'll miss it.

We are cooking Red River Gumbo for a Cookbook Fair. It has collards and pork in it. We ground those using the food processor. My son-in-law loves using it to prepare gyros. This processor really does a fantastic job.

While this teapot looks great, it is poorly engineered. There is an insulator between the handle and the body. What happens when you introduce plastic into the vicinity of an open flame? You guessed it; it melts. Bad design, bad engineering, bad product.

This is probably worth the price but I was quite disappointed to find that the bottom is not flat so it will not work on my flat-top stove for making sauces from the pan drippings. It is slightly indented with a slightly raised rim, therefore it does not make contact with the stove except at the edges. I'm sure this design was needed to add structural strength since overall the walls and bottom are quite thin (thinner than I expected) and would otherwise tend to warp. If you have a gas stove or a stove with raised burners, this would probably work fine. It is attractive and has a good rack.

I got this to mix/whip cream, egg whites, pancake batter, cake mix, pancake mix and cookie batter and it does the job for everything very well. It's also rather quiet, it's not one those blenders that just makes a lot of noise without doing much work. This 7-speed blender also comes with 2 bread hooks and 1 mixing tool (that can be used for light sauces or salad dressings) besides the 2 standard blender beaters. This includes an auto-eject button and all parts can go in the dishwasher. I got mine from Williams-Sonoma and have since seen it priced for much less. I have been using this set for past few days (ordered when price went down to $209). Just to mention I'm using this cookware on smooth ceramic top electric stove.
- 2QT Saucepan is outperforming my expectations. I have a farberware millenium bottom encapsulated set, and there's a difference. I have been using saucepan to boil milk and make lentil curries etc, no sticking and cleans up like a breeze.
- 10" skillet - heats up faster, cooks evenly. Only think I didn't like about this one is the color goes brown (as if some oxidation has occured) in the bottom surface if you delay adding your ingredients. This attachment is the best tool I've ever purchased for my KitchenAid mixer. It has made making applesauce and apple butter this year a snap. No more grinding by hand with a Foley food mill. This attachment is easy to set up and clean up. If I had known how much work it saved I would have bought it a long time ago. Worth every penny.

These attachments make fresh home made pasta a complete doddle. Using this add-on for the food grinder further extends the usefulness and flexibility of the superb KitchenAid mixers.

As for the bad reviews, the only way I can imagine someone damaging their mixer with this attachment is if they make the pasta too wet - the pasta dough looks like bread crumbs, as if it was barely damp flour - or if someone takes the instructions too literally - in the instructions it says to use pieces of pasta dough "the size of a walnut": if you grab some of the dough and squash it all up to make a walnut-sized lump I could see it damaging the mixer motor. I just dropped the dough crumbs "as is" into the grinder and the pasta flew out the end :)
