I live in Southern New Hampshire, surrounded by apple orchards. Every fall my family makes a project out of canning homemade applesauce. We buy "B-grade" apples at the orchards for very little money. The result is a product of stunning quality and flavor that simply cannot be purchased commercially at any price. It is also less expensive than commercial applesauce, so we have a win-win. We usually process 3-5 bushels of apples. If you aren't familiar with these quantities, it's a LOT of apples. The KitchenAid FVSP Fruit and Vegetable Strainer takes the labor and time out of what would otherwise be a rather tiresome job. We first core and roughly slice the apples (no need to remove skins) and cook them until they are soft in a about an ... Read More:

I treated myself to these because my current pans were getting old and pretty worn. I am so glad I did! I thought my other pans, Ultrex, were nice when I got them years ago. But these blow them away. Nice even cooking, beautful results, and super easy to clean, they swish clean in seconds! They are also really sturdy but not nearly as heavy as my other set. The old pans immediately went in the trash and these are all I will use now. I am so loving cooking again - and my husband is enjoying me cooking more. The price is great too, these were at the mall for $189 on sale. Same thing!! Thank you Amazon for great prices and great products.
I simply love my Kitchen Aid mixer; I would recommend any cook to own one of their own. Mine is cobalt blue so it looks nice out on the counter, its quite heavy to have to move it in and out of the cupboard, plus I use it so often.
It makes the best whipped cream and meringue but now I have the attachment to grind meat and stuff fresh sausage, too. If I could add one feature to it, it would be to have the tilt up head I see that they do have those now. I doubt if I will have the chance to upgrade, however-this machine seems to last forever!
I ordered this item, the purchase acknowledgement showed I had bought it, but when the package arrived it was something totally different. First CSR tried to tell me I had ordered the sanding belt they shipped and the mistake was mine, and only when I insisted on speaking with a supervisor did I finally get someone to admit they had shipped the wrong item. But, they couldn't ship me the right item - it was now "unavailable". I did get a refund.
excellent product, even if it was refurbished. received in timely fastion, and it's very sturdy and reliable! who says refurbished items aren't any good?!

I have now been thru two of these in three years. It is a waste of money as it has no durability. Two of these openers have failed after less than two years of use each, opening an average of 3 cans per week. When it works it is great, but after a while the mechanism deteriorates and becomes useless. KitchenAid was nice enough to replace the first one which had just gone out of warranty and now less than two years later the replacement has failed. After the first one failed I purchased the OXO Steel Can Opener (http://www.amazon.com/Oxo-58081-SteeL-Can-Opener/dp/B00004OCMM/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1222651468&sr=8-1)to use while my wife used the KitchenAid.
My OXO is going strong while the KitchenAid failed. If ... Read More:
This is a good roller, much better than using an Atlas hand pasta machine (which I've done for years). But little pieces of pasta dry up inside and is time consuming to get them out. Last one I had I was cleaning it with a rag and the rag got jammed in (it was turning as I was cleaning the rollers). A brass piece broke inside, so now I am on my second one.
The fact tht you don't have to use one hand to crank while feeding the pasta makes for a better deal. Also, pay attention to the VERY confusing ordering system - you need this pasta roller , AND you need cutters if you want to make anything but sheets, and the various kits all have these weird codes. The picture of this one looks like it makes fettucine, in fact it only makes lasagna ... Read More:
