MIU 4-Piece Silicone Spatulas Set, Pastel Colors

these spatulas work fine but you have to be careful what you use them on. The large purple one got all stained when I used it to clean out the bowl containing my sauce for lasagna. I have others that don't do this.

MIU #90049 Candy/Deep Fryer Thermometer

I make a lot of candy and needed an accurate themometer. Caramels are especially sensitive to temperature changes. I regret buying this thermometer for two reasons: 1) The base/bulb of the thermometer is at a height that it often isn't fully submerged in the pot.

2) Even worse, after my last batch of caramels and the hard candy lollipops were overcooked, I realized that the thermometer is not fixed securely against the number scales, It slides up and down, thereby rendering it quite inaccurate. That was what had happened and what I thought were "perfect" temperatures, were actually about 5-10 degrees higher than they should have been. Very frustrating when you are doing something time consuming (with costly ingredients).

This magnetic strip is really strong. But the screws that came with the product were cheep, we ended up using some spare screws we had on hand because the top just melted into nothing and one of the tops broke off in the wall. So keep that in mind if you purchase this.

This was a wonderful tool for about a year, and I was thrilled that it was so much cheaper than the name brands, but then some part of the internal mechanism broke so now I've just got a neat foil cutter.

MIU Stainless-Steel 5-Piece Measuring Spoon Set

When I received the spoons I thought the quality was good and the weight decent, I haven't have a chance to really use them of yet but I would recommend them for people that do a lot of cooking because the inset measurements will wear well and the accompanying ring allows for easy sort of the measurements

MIU #90069 Commercial Oven Thermometer

My oven has always been much hotter than the number on the dial. So, a while back, I bought a Taylor oven thermometer (Taylor 503 Connoissuer Line Oven Thermometer) which I hated because it was hard to read. So recently I bought this MIU one and a Sunbeam one (Sunbeam, 90300, Oven Thermometer, Stainless Steel) because it was 4 for 3 and I was tired of not knowing the oven temperature.

Then I turned my oven on to somewhere between 325 and 350F, put all three thermometers in the same part of the oven, and let it heat for a while. After 10 or 15 minutes, I opened the door and took a picture of the thermometers so I could get their readings at the same time.

The results were:
Sunbeam: approx 380F
MIU: approx 360F

MIU Silicone Basting Brush with Stainless-Steel Handle

This brush is far better than any others I've used, especially the "brush bristle" ones. I was constantly pulling the bristles off food. I wish someone made this years ago. It's fabulous.

MIU Silicone Potholders, Black (Set of 2)

I love these potholders. I was a little nervous ordering them because of the bad reviews some people had given. I think they are plenty flexible, I can grab a handle on a pan or a baking dish. Being able to wash them is a great plus. I can see how you could burn yourself through the hole, but once you figure out how to hold them they work great.
