I have been using these bags for years. I cut 4-5 bags, about 12 inches long, at a time and seal the bottoms. When I wash them I put them over a wooden spoon in the drain. I label them above the cut-off line before sealing. I like buying chicken, chops, steaks, and burger in bulk at Sam's and divide them up into small, meal-sized portions. Blue berries freeze well as do strawberries. I cook up meat balls and freeze them. This machine and the bags are a wonderful addition to any kitchen and has an unlimited number of uses.. It will save you money and make your life a lot simpler.

We freeze a large amount of summer produce from our garden and from our CSA subscription. These rolls are the best way of doing that. Not inexpensive, but definitely cheaper than the individual bags and more convenient by being individually sizable.

FoodSaver 1 Quart Size Bag, Package of 48

I've been using the Food Saver system for several years. It does a fine job of extending the expected shelf-life of stored foods. The 1 quart bags are the size that are useful for a 2 party family. These bags are very well made, and seal to perfection. I may suggest one improvement...the seal line should be more adjustable so that the bag could be reused a couple of times. You should be able to cut off the bag at the seal point, reinsert a food, and reseal the bag. I can't do this because too much of the bag is wasted after cutting off the first seal.
I have dealt with customer service a few times and they have been very accommodating, and have fully satisfied my needs.

I like the bags because you don't have to measure and cut, and only have to seal one side. I don't like to do anything in the kitchen, so anything that saves time and effort is for me. You pay more for bags than rolls, but your time is worth something, too. The pint bag is the one I use most for my husband and me, but I use some quart-size, too. I have two sealers, a standard size which I seldom use, and an old short one which lives on the back of the counter taking up very little space. Having it right there ready to use prompts me to use it much more often than if I had to get it out of the closet. It's no secret that the bags for the FoodSaver are expensive. Enter the Wide Mouth Jar Sealer. This is great for items that you want to keep vacuum sealed in between uses. Think "dry goods" such as beans, macaroni, corn starch, brown sugar, etc. For those that are not familiar with exactly what this does I will give a brief expanation. With this jar sealer you can take a standard canning jar, put the desired product inside, slap on a good canning jar lid, and vacuum seal it using the 'canister' button and the vacuum hose that came with your FoodSaver. You then remove the jar sealer to use again and again. As long as you are careful when removing the canning jar lid it can be used over and over again. FoodSaver Quick Marinator 2-1/4-Quart Square Canister (Colors will vary)

I received the clear model and love it. I use it all the time to marinate chicken breasts, cubed steak, fish and so many other meats. I also have used it to store dry foods and leftovers I want to save in the fridge. Once the air is taken out of the container there is no way you can open it unless you turn the knob to release the seal. I dropped the container by accident once and it did not break open which really amazed me. Very tight seal.

I use these bags constantly. They are ideal for freezing larger cuts of meat, fish and vegetables.These bags are must haves for wholesale shoppers. I have even sealed documents for safekeeping in them. Best of all I only discard the ones that I seal meat in or when they start to deteriorate from repeated use.
