We bought this machine because of it's size -- it would fit in our appliance garage. However, in order for it to be narrow, the loaf pan is elongated, and hence there are two paddles instead of one. This results in poor kneading, because the dough gets repeatedly torn, tearing up the gluten strands as they're forming (at least this is my conjecture). It works OK if you make a large amount of dough, but you can't make a small loaf or a smallish amount of pizza dough. I have not tried baking in the machine, but I doubt this would work well either, because when I lift the lid to get the dough after the first rise, it's usually lopsided. It's very expensive too! The one I had before that was only about $50 and did a fine job. That one, ... Read More:

I purchased this rice cooker based on the reviews that I had read and honestly it only does an adequate job considering the cost.
I have yet to produce Batsami rice that doesn't come out like mush from it. I have used two different brands of rice and have the same problem each time. White rice and some of the other brown rices come out perfect but not the Batsami. I have read that other less expensive cookers perform just as adequatly without the high dollar tag.
It sure does look good sitting on my counter though...
The Good: Coffee is brewed quickly, tastes fine, and it stays hot.
The Bad: It doesn't pour well. The lid is crazy and hard to line up. The #4 filters the mfg. recommends have to be cut down because they're too tall. The Bunn stainless steel pour-over is a much better coffee maker but it's also twice the money.
This is my second Zojirushi breadmaker. The first made a huge loaf and once the kids were gone I didn't use it much so I sold it. I love Zojirushi cooking products and the Zo Mini is my fourth appliance by the company - I don't care about the high price - the quality, dependability, service make up for it.
This little machine makes perfect bread if you follow the directions exactly. My first loaf was perfect. Second loaf, perfect. You get the idea. As for slicing, I use an electric knife and slice from top to bottom to get about 10 really nice, tall slices. (One reviewer said the top and bottom slices are wasted - he/she needs to slice the other way!)
One of the best things about the machine is how quietly it runs. Another ... Read More:
First of all, the steamer basket is tiny. Maybe enough room to steam vegetables for 1 person, 2 people max.
Besides that, this rice cooker is awesome. No more burnt, stuck rice at the bottom of the pan. Cooks rice fast, cleans real fast and easy. I'm so glad I finally have a good rice cooker. Now I dont dread making rice anymore because I always hated scraping out the burnt rice on the bottom of my old one.
This is just a great rice cooker! Once you get it set-up it is so easy to use.I have 3 members of my household and it is just the right size. The web site has recipes too that are helpful. It cost more than some cookers but worth it.As far as the aluminum thing goes I have been cooking in restaurants for 30 years and have cooked on aluminum every day. If it were copper then worry. I have never heard anything so ridiculous.
I just cleaned my Zoji electric hot water dispenser with the ADC-05 Pot Cleaner and I am extremely impressed! I had at least six months of build-up in my pot and was skeptical as to if it was up for the job. I live in California where there are a lot of impurities and minerals in the tap water.
I filled the pot with water, heated it to the highest setting and added the cleaner. It immediately started bubbling, like a really hot alka seltzer. I closed the pot and waited for twenty minutes. I ran the solution through the dispenser and rinsed it out in the same fashion approximately four times.
I was AMAZED at how it cleaned out everything! It looked as if I just brought it home that day. I totally recommend this ... Read More:

After I read all the comments about this rice cooker, I purchased it. After I purchased it, I saw a 1 or 2 stars comment that we must take this rice cooker to an authorized dealer to replace the battery. That made me worry a while. My worry is gone now as it cooks perfect rice with this Japan made Zojirushi rice cooker. Also, the menu suggested to leave the electric plug on so no need to replace the battery so soon. But, you must unplug it when cleaning. Anyway, this is a good rice cooker but I puchased it more expensive than Ranch 99 Market. I got it at $175 for 5 1/2 cups on line but Ranch 99 is selling it at $145 for 10 cups. Suggest to look around for a good deal.
This is a rebuttal to Jessie's review. She asserts that the water heater doesn't accurately heat the water to her desired temperature. What she doesn't know is that the water heater always boils the water first to drive out the chlorine, then the temperature drifts down to it's preset limit where it is kept warm. What Jessie needs to do is to fill the unit before bed, set the timer and when she wakes up she will be rewarded with water at her desired temperature. It will keep the water at that temperature until she fills it again, then it will boil the water again, and let it drift down to her pre-set temperature.
This is a terrific little unit: efficient, accurate, and a joy to those who read their instructions.
