I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this machine. There are modifications you can make to get a finer grind but the design must have been updated as it provides an extremely fine grind at the finest setting. The burs heat up and if you don't let it cool as per the instructions it will affect taste.

I love this product. I use it daily and love to froth milk for my morning coffee. It is terrific and it works great with all kinds of milk especially with whipping cream and evaporated milk. I barely go to Starbucks anymore when I can make my own lattés at home and taste even better. I've even converted my tea drinking spouse to drinking coffee! That says it all!

A friend gave us one of these coffee makers for Christmas a few years ago. It has made excellent coffee every day and finally seems to be wearing out. I ordered another for the time the other coffee maker quits working. I like the Bunn method because the water stays hot and makes coffee fast and it's not sitting on a warmer so it doesn't get burnt while you're having your first cup or two. If you want a cup before it quits brewing, simply open the top flap, pour your coffee without drips, and close the flap to finish brewing. The carafe is insulated but it doesn't keep as hot as Thermos. If you like it really hot it's easy to heat in the microwave oven. I bought one of these last week and I love it so much I went out and bought 4 more for my adult children. Sometimes I find myself sitting and thinking who else I could give one to because it is so cool.

I bought 2-3 original Senseos and loved them, recommending them to friends. In May, 2008, I bought the "Supreme." I disliked it from the first, since the JavaOne pods that I liked and used in the original model were too big to fit properly in the Supreme. Today, November 15, 2008, the latch on the Supreme failed. That's about six months after purchase, whereas the original units continued to work until I retired them for various reasons.

I continue to recommend the original model. But, I cannot too strongly register my distaste for the Supreme. I urge prospective purchasers to save their money. Personally, I'm replacing the failed Supreme with a Keurig B70.

After searching around for a single-cup brewer, I finally settled on this product. This was after seeing the positive reviews here on Amazon. At first, I was not too keen on the fact of using K-Cups, but now after a few weeks of use, I realize that they are very convenient and generally the coffee or tea tastes pretty darn good. Also, with the My K-Cup, I can use whatever ground beans I so desire which eliminates the need to be soley dependent on other K-Cups. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Krups 049-33 Gold Tone Filter

This filter seems like a good idea but in practice it allows far too many fine grounds to enter the pot. This drastically changes the flavor of the coffee and makes the last few cups in the pot completely undrinkable. I suppose if I had a burr grinder I could adjust the grind to be less fine but I have a normal spinning blade grinder that has served me well and makes great tasting coffee otherwise.

I am sticking with my Melitta #4 Natural Brown paper filters.

The toddy system is a great coffee brewing system. There are many ways to customize your own brew, from the brewing process itself to how you mix up your drinks. The possibilities are endless. I was first drawn to this product when I found out that it has a special loose tea compartment, which was exactly what I was looking for.
The basket holes are a little wide, so fine pieces from herbal teas will fall through, but overall it does the job.
As for coffee: it makes two cups from my french press, pours into a starbucks "tall" and leaves room for milk.
So for coffee or tea, this little thermos is perfect to take anywhere. I've had no leaks or spills.
